Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great way to get some exercise, we walked a section of it in the evening and watched the sun setting and fisherman catching salmon of the rocks. A couple of days later, did a segway tour and went right along it. It's not a hard walk, always something to look at.

I walked along this pathway from Airlie Beach to Cannonvale nearly every day, and highly recommend it. The views on cannonvale side are great, much nicer area than Airlie itself. Only took 30mins to Cannonvale beach.

I stayed in Airlie Beach for over a month in July 2021. I did this walk many times. There is so much beautiful scenery along this walk including little beaches and boardwalks and little laneways and the two marinas. There is a lovely vibe in the mornings walking past the marinas seeing everyone heading off on their day tours / trips. A few lovely coffee shops along the way too including Bohemia Raw and Rainbow Cafe. Followed by Fat Frog at the end of the walk. I tried them all several times each for coffee or breakfast and tIhey were all great and a nice treat after the walk. I couldn't keep the smile off my face every time I did the walk. I never got fed up with the same walk. It truly is beautiful and a fantastic part of Australia.

The Bicentennial walkway is an extended boardwalk trail that runs along the coast and links Airlie Beach and Cannonvale.
It runs for 4km but we only had time to do a very short stretch, starting at the Airlie Beach end.
Airlie Beach itself is not much of a swimming beach. The beaches here are tidal and get quite muddy at low tide. I hadn’t expected this however the Bicentennial walkway takes you past the very popular man-made lagoon so you can jump in the water here instead if you want to cool off.
From here we walked around to the marina but time was limited and we didn’t make it as far as Shingley Beach (another tidal beach) or the start of the Turtle Boardwalk. Even so, it was well worth walking some of the track.

We had two goes at doing the walk as the first time it was just too hot, but totally recommend on a cooler day. We went from Airlie beach to the fat frog cafe and return. Lovely views and an easy walk

What an asset this walkway is for Airlie Beach. We walked it nearly every day and enjoyed spectacular views. It’s wide enough for two way traffic, and the newest section at Turtle Beach is fabulous. Lots of cafes and interesting stopping points along the way.

We walked a lot of the bicentennial walkway from town around to Cannonvale. Great easy walk past some very tempting restaurants and cafes (thanks especially to the staff at the fat frog). It’s a beautiful walk around the headlands and we went back to it a couple of times.

Lovely walk between Airlie Beach and Cannonsvale. Takes you through the Coral Sea Marina, past smart new apartments, parkland and to the little beach at Cannonsvale. I saw a sea turtle basking near the path. Beautiful views and interesting plants everywhere. The tide was in so the path was submerged to ankle depth just before Cannonsvale - the water was lovely and warm. Nearly missed the Fat Frog cafe which is on the other side of the main road.

We took a morning walk everyday and the boardwalk made it so much more enjoyable. It’s a gorgeous walk that gives uninterrupted views of the Whitsundays. It’s an easy walk, scatters, kids or prams. You can make it as long or as short as you like.

Loved the walk from Shingley Beach into town and return each evening. With the exception of one small area that skirts around a boat building yard the walk is all along the water front. It is well lighted after dark.
