We drove our rental car through the Dandenong Ranges, it’s absolutely beautiful! Nature is a splendid thing! Beautiful Forests & lake. Make sure you see the water reservoir!

Recently went to Burkes lookout to watch the fireworks. Great place to go rather than pay to visit Sky High Lookout. Path available, however we parked further away and hiked down to the lookout.

Such a peaceful spot not too far from Melbourne. There are wonderful drives through the forests as well as walking trails. It is also great to see how people have built themselves little homes amongst the gumtrees.

This is a beautiful mountain area and we found that Burkes lookout is probably the best way to take a look at the valley and city below.

Not that far out of Melbourne the dandenong ranges are great spot to bring someone out of town. It's a special place.

Hi Karen absolutely yes it is worth doing. i drove tour coaches throughout melb and it was never the same. Every visit offered different views and scenery.

There is no payment that I am aware of for feeding the local birds... although it is advisable to purchase seed for them, rather than bread which is too processed for them. :)
