Selwyn Snowfields is a small, family-friendly snow resort located in the northern section of Kosciuszko National Park; just west of Kiandra. The scenery as you drive towards the Mountain snowfields is spectacular. Trees, rivers and lakes give way to snow covered mountains and the whole incredible scene is punctuated only by the winding sable coloured road on which you drive.... More

we loved the Selwyn Snowfields, the kids had the best first experience. The snow school for the kids was fantastic, it was so worth it, the teacher was great and only 2 in the class. we were lucky to have a massive dump of snow over the weekend we were there and we could ask for anything better. we hired... For a first time visit to the snow for young children, it was great. But we brought tickets for the tobaggining and felt it was a bit too dangerous, so only had one ride. There was no safety cushioning and we couldnt see any employees making sure everyone was okay. There was no direction from anyone except to go down,... More

We went to Selwyn for the day as a day trip from Canberra. 2 hrs 30 mins drive from Canberra via Cooma (GPS can go a more direct route but I was warned that it is a terrible road so go via Cooma). The last part of the drive is up in alpine country and it was quite icy so... More

We had our first snowboarding experience here a few weeks back and had the time if our lives! We visited between dumps and after some rain so a lot of snow was washed away. Only 1 lift operating on 2 of our 3 days but that was sufficient for us to master the art of riding. They ain't lying when... More

Wow... who would think that you could travel to Australia and experience snow? Well we have just had a fantastic day in the Selwyn ski resort. The snow resort is fantastic. The toilets are dirty and smelly. The restaurant is untidy. Overall the experience was great fun.

Helpful staff + family friendly + good snow + nice weather = all good. Hiring everything with lift pass and lesson around $100 each per day.

Relatively quiet snow fields, with reasonably easy access. A good hour or so from the major towns where you would generally stay, but the roads are easy to drive and the views are spectacular on the way. I would recommend this place as somewhere for your first few days of skiing - the lift staff and system is beginner-friendly, not... More

Great fun and great value for money. However the menu could be more flexible to people with special dietary requirements. The "vego" options were very limited, as all the soups appeared to contain cream all the vegetarian sandwiches and wraps seemed to contain mayonnaise, there were no ingredients declaration/nutritional information on the packaging, all of the salads contained cheese, and... Been comming here for 9 years with the kids. They are 14 and 12 now and they've been skiing ever since. They love it here because it's small and all the kids can go off and have fun without us adults worrying about them too much as the resort is small enough to let them. Sure, no challenging runs for... More
