There is a fence around it, but the gate was open so we went in to explore. It is easy to imagine what a splendid mansion it must have been. Now it is just a shell. Be careful. The inside is full of bramble.

The remains of Tyrone House are a fascinating reminder of the history (good & bad) of the Kilcolgan area! The house is very approachable. I wish there was more of the history available onsite. It's definitely worth a stop!!
