    Family day
Lovely cold family New Years day at the races on the course enclosure. Reasonable facilities although the catering could do with been a bit more varied. Good that there was some activities for children. Although welcome the indoor ones could do with some extra play things. Overall a good day out
Thank you for your review and feedback, it's great to hear that you enjoyed the day.

Kids first time at the races.
Children's play areas could do with improving however kids are free to enter and adults are £5 for the paddock. Cheap and enjoyable day out for the whole family. You can even keep the costs down by taking your own picnic which they allow as well as a small amount of alcohol (4cans or 1 bottle of wine per adult.) Another way to keep the cost down. Horse racing doesn't have to be expensive, especially in this current climate where everyone is feeling the pinch. It is 100% enjoyable. I would urge anyone that hasn't experienced it to give it a whirl. Keep your eyes peeled for families day during the year as there is always extra entertainment laid on for the children. Race courses up and down the country so take a look. My kids loved it. It was their first time as it was half term. I love it all the time.

    Poor Racing
Racing with 2 and 3 horse races is not racing, it is poor at least. We had pre booked tickets which are not refundable, so we went, but had we known the racing would have been so poor we would not have bothered. There was no atmosphere no excitement just a poor experience overall.

A good place for a day at the races
Friendly small racecourse with attractive facilities . When we first started going there there was only a grandstand and that meant literally standing all the time . Now there’s , in addition to the trackside restaurant , a pleasant tearoom close to the parade ring and the Dales Stand , mainly for owners and trainers but some of it open to the public , especially the state of the art toilets ! A no frills and no pretentions place and a choice of flat or national hunt racing according to the season .
Thank you for the lovely review, hopefully we can welcome you back to the course again sometime soon!

    Disappointing
This was a day at the races to celebrate a special wedding anniversary. We had booked Hospitality tickets for lunch. Sadly, a great day’s racing was marred by very indifferent “hospitality”. Having arrived in the “Winning Streak” for lunch we waited to find out where we were to sit. As nobody came to help/greet, we found a sheet of paper by the bar which listed our name and table number. Having taken our seats, we waited fifteen minutes without attention (though patrons arriving after us had been served) and finally we went to the bar to order our own drinks. It was unfortunate that only one menu sheet was available to us and this we had to ask for from the waitress who came to take our order! The chicken starter was very disappointingly dry and unappealing and consequently was not eaten. After lunch, we went to find a waitress to ask for coffee. Either the coffee had been spilt into the saucer and spoons en route to the table ( most likely) or the coffee had been served in unwashed crockery ( hopefully not).
Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry to hear your visit was disappointing and did not meet our usual high standards. I will pass your comments onto our caterering manager to ensure this doesn't happen again in future. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming course so I am sorry to hear you did not find this was the case and that some of the food was not up to standard. I hope we can welcome you back to the course sometime in future to enjoy an improved experience.

    Return visit after 5 years
I reviewed Catterick Races five years and went back recently with my brother and a couple of friends. Obviously no one is expecting the really big names at Catterick, but the day out was enjoyable and we managed to get a couple of winners, which made it even better. Entry at £18 on the day is OK, as some smaller racourses are charging at least £20, and this gained us access to the paddock and grandstand. If you want a cheaper day out, there is the course entrance with fewer facilities for £7. Also as my brother has a blue badge, we were able to use the disabled car park, which has a generous amount of parking and the staff are helpful. In general we found the staff in the bars and the restaurants friendly, and the price of food in the restaurants OK and of a reasonable standard. As Catterick has jumps as well as flat racing, you can visit the racecourse all year round, and it's very easy to find, being a mile from the A1M. In summer there is a popular Ladies Night and a family fun day.

Enjoyable summer afternoon at the races.
Sunny day, everyone pleasant. Good company. Did not eat or drink anything except buying some sweets from the nice lady in her small shop. Parking easy and closeby; left after the penultimate race to avoid any tailbacks.

    Fabulous day at the races
Our first visit to Catterick race course, we had a lovely meal in the winning streak restaurant. Despite been a small race course there was lovely relaxed Atmosphere . The only slight niggle was that the outdoor TV screen was small and difficult to see and also the course commentary was a little quite. But I will definitely be back for ladies day next year !!!

    Very disappointing overall
Lovely place been before in the hospitality restaurant but was shocked this time at how poor it was. There was no communication whatsoever between the waiting on staff. Took forever for someone to come with our mains after us having to ask 2 members of staff what was going on. Then when they came no yorkshire puddings with the roast beef but again they waited until we mentioned it to them and offered us a free drink to compensate. Waiting on staff took forever to take drinks orders and when we got the afternoon tea which we paid 9 pound each for 6 people they ga e us 3 small cakes cut into cubes for 6 of us what an absolute insult. Then to top it off all 3 people who had pork have all had bad stomachs overnight. Very disappointing to be frank and nothing like our first experience pre-covid which was brilliant. Definitely not worth what we paid at all and service was to be frank not up to standard we expected. Unfortunately this experience has put a dampener on whether we would return especially not for the hospitality package such a shame.
I'm very sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience in the restaurant. We work closely with our catering team and always aim to offer the best service and quality of food but it appears that we have failed to provide that for you on this occasion, so for that I am sorry. Regarding the pork, I have spoken with our catering manager who has informed me that the pork was served across the site, and enjoyed by a number of other racegoers, including some racecourse staff and although we've not had any other reports of issues, I do hope that your guests are feeling better. For the light afternoon tea, each guest should get three pieces of cake and a scone with jam & cream each. I hope that we can welcome you back to the course again sometime in the future to enjoy an improved experience.

    Great experience, very well organised
Great course albeit a little dated. All staff friendly and organised except the lady giving out the prepaid race card. Challenging to see the big screen due to where the sun was. Very well organised.

A great day to celebrate my Dad's 80th. The set-up is excellent, from the initial contact, through arriving and being escorted to the restaurant. Excellent service, food and very friendly staff. I'd certainly recommend the hospitality package.

Catterick racecourse is a wonderful place to visit. All of the facilities are excellent. The racecourse is compact allowing easy access to the parade ring and winners enclosure, along with excellent viewing locations in the stand. The entire course is clearly visible from the stands ( particularly for those who like using binoculars ) and this is complimented by the racing being shown on a very large screen. The staff are friendly and helpful to a point. Finally admission charges are very reasonable.
