Wembley beach is a national trust site so car parking fee applies during summer months at daytime.
The walk down to the beach from here involves the slope with broad steps and is fairly steep but if I remember correctly there is a handrail on one side. Otherwise you can walk back down the road from the car park and just before you reach the end, turn left to cross a little bridge over grass and a stream, there's a path that leads to the beach which is a very easy walk, the slope is far gentler, but it is a bit of a detour and double-back.
