This Burg is one of the most famous in all of Germany. Beautifully located in a very deep valley, and a great "foto op" if you park on top, and hike down the trails to the Burg. This Burg has been carefully taken care of for a long time, and is in great shape, so there is a lot to... More

My son asked my "what would you like to see while in Germany?" "Castles", I responded. He was not really excited with my request, but went with it anyway. When we got to Burg Eltz his opinion was flipped 180. The castle is well worth the trip and entry fee. The tour guide was excellent, the food at the little... More

Visited with our 2 young sons and we were not disappointed. Well signed throughout the town so easy to find the large parking lot. 2euro to park. Then we chose to walk on the foot path - an easy paved path about 15 minutes downhill through the forest. At the base of the trail you turn and suddenly remember why... More

Not easy to get to. We did a beautiful 5 mile walk along streets and through woods to the castle from the train station. All well marked. Did... More

15 minute walk downhill . suddenly one of the turns you see that impressive giant castle.. when they tell you the time ot the tour, you have to stand there and wait. because each time only 20 people get in, and those who didnt entered had to wait another 20 minutes. The tour in English or German. 45 minutes in... More

We reached the castle after a 30 minutes walk through a beautiful forest (we were in late autumn, so forest was really colourful). an entry ticket for 1 adult is 10 euro and includes a guided tour (40-45 minutes). It was very easy to arrange an English tour. there are also 2 places where you can eat/drink something before the... More

I read an article about this castle a while ago and I hoped ever since we would get the chance to visit it. It was better than anticipated, a beautiful, intact medieval castles, still owned by the family who built it. A must see!
