The entire family voted this our favorite. A step back in time into life long ago. The tours were very interesting, informative and not rushed. The museum in the basement was wonderful with everything from dishes to jewelry. The café was delicious and reasonable along a great souvenir beer glass. The setting is beautiful and every room had interesting informative... More

Burg Eltz is one of those castle's that you're in awe. It's in the middle of nowhere, has pretty scenery and the castle is fantastic. There is a nice tour that will take you through the castle and it's exactly the type of castle that you're hoping for when you visit from a different country. Having visited many castle's in... Was on a flying visit to meet one of my work colleagues and he took me out to see the castle. Wasn't disappointed, stunning castle. What makes it more enjoyable is you can't see it from a distance - you walk over to the viewing and then boom, it's their. This trip was out of season (therefore no castle bus)... More

A short walk from the car parking lot to the castle (15-20 minutes) through the woods... then BOOM...there is the castle. Unfortunately the castle was closed for the winter...but we enjoyed hiking the grounds. Well worth the trek.

This Burg is one of the most famous in all of Germany. Beautifully located in a very deep valley, and a great "foto op" if you park on top, and hike down the trails to the Burg. This Burg has been carefully taken care of for a long time, and is in great shape, so there is a lot to... More

My son asked my "what would you like to see while in Germany?" "Castles", I responded. He was not really excited with my request, but went with it anyway. When we got to Burg Eltz his opinion was flipped 180. The castle is well worth the trip and entry fee. The tour guide was excellent, the food at the little... More

Visited with our 2 young sons and we were not disappointed. Well signed throughout the town so easy to find the large parking lot. 2euro to park. Then we chose to walk on the foot path - an easy paved path about 15 minutes downhill through the forest. At the base of the trail you turn and suddenly remember why... More

Hiked to Berg Eltz. Bert authentic castle in Europe. 800 years old. Been in the same family 700 years. The furnishing date to the age. Family sto;; uses. Pictures of current owners. Not easy to get to. We did a beautiful 5 mile walk along streets and through woods to the castle from the train station. All well marked. Did... More
