- Connector466225668674 contributionsVery good wine tastingWe had an amazing experience, the staff was friendly and attentive. We went as a group of 3 and we had the tour alone. We were offered a tasting of three wines( one white and two red) and two types of their olive oil. They served it with basket of bread, some chips and a plate of delicious Spanish ham. I definitely recommend.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 27 May 2024
- Kevin G4 contributionsNice Experience in the countryside close to RondaHaving seen La Melonera on a UK TV documentary, we opted to call in on a day out whilst on vacation near Malaga. It’s not the easiest place to find but once we did, we were welcomed by Alejandro and given a brief history of the place and then treated to a tasting of three of their wines. All were extremely palatable and there followed a visit to the shop to purchase a few bottles. We also bought a bottle of their unique wine “Yo Solo” that is produced from grapes only grown on this particular estate - This we carefully packed in our hold luggage for return to the UK for a special celebration later in the year. The “bodega” offers tastings at €15 per person or a more complete tour with tasting, snacks and local ham that’s bookable in advance. Thanks to all for the hospitality and for anyone visiting the Ronda area, then it’s well worth a visit.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 27 June 2024

Thank you so much for a wonderful visit. Even the children were interested! Couldn't resist leaving with some wonderful wine which will definitely have a place on our table at Christmas. The tapas we had were so special, so much so that we have also hunted down some of the amazing black pudding to bring home. Gema and Antonio made our visit so personal and special, thank you both especially for the kindness to Will & Romero! We will absolutely be back and will be bringing family and friends. What a wonderful job you are doing in introducing rare varieties of vines, we look forward to tasting more fruits of your labour in the coming years!

No one on the street had even heard of "La Melonera" We asked at a nearby farmacy and locals passing by (I am Spanish so i can communicate) and "La Melonera" was a mystery to all of them. If you find it, please post, we didn't.

On the country roads around Ronda - rolling hills, white villages, meadows in blossom, lies a relatively undiscovered jewel of La Melonera, where the Spanish history of wine, pride, and the sun is bottled ... and unbottled for tourists, in an exclusive and family-like setting.
Gema is truly a dynamite story-teller, that will tell you all about the history of Ronda and its wines, the glory days, and the sad days of grape-eater phylloxera, as well as the story of bringing the rare wines back to the region in the 21st century, step by step, with pride and patience and lots of care, treating both - grapes and visitors with utmost care and kindness.
The wines are unique, as is the generosity of the heart of Gema and the place itself. She made the celebration of our 30-year friendship of 4 friends truly special.

I recently went to La Melonera and I had a fantastic time touring the winery and then being able to taste their wines. It is definitely a winery people need to go to when visiting Ronda.

I had an amazing time touring the La Melonera Bodega! State of the art facility with welcoming staff and a professional tasting. The wine and pairings were the best I’ve had in Ronda! The Bodega’s outside patio and view was breathtaking and perfect for pictures over looking the town! Truly a hidden gem and must when in Ronda.
