Great cafe before you start your walk at the National Trust Cafe. Plenty of parking too. Walking in the forest is fantastic. Great views of the surrounding area. Beautiful countryside. My dogs love it here Did not go into the castle but I'm led to believe it's incredibly goode

Although the castle is under renovation we have found on the occasions we have visited that there are plenty of other things to do from the walks around the area, trails that we... More

Knew the Castle would be closed as it is being refurbished. But popped in for a coffee and a cake after a walk along the Teign Valley. Delicious coffee and walnut cake, huge slice! Nice coffee. I would wholeheartedly recommend

Decided to visit the castle recently and was surprised to see so much scaffolding covering the building. later learned there is a mammoth renovation taking place covering many years. However bearing this in mind it was wonderful to see the work undertaken by the craftsmen so far.I trust the work will be completed as the workmen dwindle in numbers. The staff... More

I would not recommend you pay to visit the castle. Even when the renovation is complete, it is still only a millionaire's mansion shaped like a castle. If we were told before we had paid that it only started to be constructed in 1922, there is no way we would have gone in. It's just the same as you visiting... More

We were disappointed to learn that the castle was closed on the rainy November day when we arrived. But the staff -- especially a man named Keith -- was so friendly and helpful that we still had a positive experience. He really went out of his way to help us and make us appreciate the National Trust. The view is... More
