A great road with great country side. Breathtaking views, forests with tall pine trees, and in the top of the mountains the great passage of transalpina. Even during August it gets very cold in that hight. The road is closed for 6-7 months during the...More

I think that the Transfagarasan is more spectacular , but Transalpina ( National Road 67C ) is also an amazing experience .It is an old road but recently paved so for the most part the asphalt is perfect . It reaches the highest altitude (2145m...More

Travelers to Romania interested in breathtaking scenery must include this highway in their itinerary. The most spectacular portion is between Ranca and Obarsia Lotrului. The 360 degree panorama of the Carpatian Mountains is absolutely unique on a sunny day with good visibility. We saw deer...More

From north to south in a small car. Nice route, beautiful landscape, need some skill to drive it over. Asphalt needs some more care especially in first third of the route. Have to see, must to drive!

The road is in my opinion the most beautiful one in Romania. Very beautiful landscapes and also not too crowded.

We drove south to north in July after driving down the Transfagarasan and staying overnight in Curtea de Arges. We visited the Woman's cave on the way, which was interesting and a worthwhile break from all the driving. The Transalpina itself, I believe trumps the...More

We drove north to south on a Sunday morning and encountered little traffic - probably because it was raining and there was a lot of mist about. Plenty of hairpin bends and hard climbing on this spectacular route. Well worth driving.

Only one word can describe this road : FANTASTIC. I enjoyed all the view, the nature and the quality of the road it self. But it was a real challenge. Especially with kids who are not ready to spend few hours on a 120 km...More

Usually, the part starting from Rinca towards Sebes is closed due to bad weather. The weather is very unpredictibile and could vary from day to day. So is imperative to ask before going there. Enjoy.
