    A great family day out
An excellent day out for families. Taman Safari has a number of sections: Safari Section In this section you drive through the different animal enclosures in your own car. You are able to stop and feed some of the animals (deer, zebras) with carrots you can buy from street-side stalls leading up to Taman Safari. You can pay extra to feed the elephants and giraffes under supervision of a ranger (whilst still in your car). Enclosures are lush, with a variety of plants and quite spacious. Animals look healthy and well cared for. Baby Zoo, Carnival Games, Australian Section These sections are explored on foot or you can take the shuttle truck which allows you to alight once per stop and provides live commentary from a guide about the different activities available. It is best to take the shuttle truck (for which you pay extra ($2 per person)) as the terrain is very steep. The shuttle truck can fit a pram in the front section. The Australian section is not pram-friendly with stoney gravel paths that jam the wheels of the pram. There are lots of opportunities to see the animals up close and interact with them in these sections. The environment is shady, lush and cool with lots of overhead coverage from towering trees. Staff are friendly and engaging. Waterpark You pay extra to access this section and then extra again ($7.50) to use a gazebo. The slides seem to be a bit dangerous, especially one that is situated right next to the edge of the waterpark with no high sides on the slide or a high fence or anything to stop you falling quite a few metres onto concrete if you were to come off the slide. The water is very cold which makes swimming uncomfortable given the crisp climate here. This space could be used for much better attractions more closely-related to the zoo theme. Animal rides In front of the waterpark you can ride ponies, a camel and elephants. Shows We didnt get the chance to see these but there are quite a few shows, like dolphin and tiger shows, scheduled throughout the day. Circus The circus is great fun for children, with short acts and a running time of 60 minutes. Perfect end to the day!

    Worth a visit
Generally worth a visit, even thought the place is slightly over an hour's drive from the city. Some of the positives: + Interesting drive-through experience + Plenty to see and experience - just about enough for a full-day visit + Other activities available in addition to seeing the animals + Good variety of shows and performances + Animals generally look well taken care of + Friendly staff We did however encounter some issues with language as foreign visitors though, as some of the staff members could only communicate in Bahasa. The shows and performances were also all done in Bahasa, and that was largely the main and only drawback we encountered.

Lack of animal welfare & not good animal conditions
Coming from Singapore which has a great zoo focusing on animal welfare as a priority, I was disappointed with Taman Safari Prigen. The animals enclosure were very boring with nothing to keep them occupied. Most animals were ust pacing up & down (Not a good sign). We went to Tiger cave restaurant & was shocked to see a white tiger & sumatran tiger housed together in a glass enclosure which was small! The white tiger was aggressive to the yellow tiger making it stressed as it jumped from one area to another as the white tiger kept chasing it away. For an animal lover point of view, it was depressing to see this! I quickly left the restaurant. I didn't enjoy this zoo experience as animal welfare is more important for me. I hope the zoo will make it a more animal friendly attraction

Need to improve the animal variants. The white tiger in the cave was incredible. My kids loves the circus much.

No need to worry about security, as long as we obey the rules and don't open the car window carelessly, then we can enjoy this safari park. We can feed some animals and even take pictures. But it is not recommended to get off the vehicle. If you don't bring a vehicle, the safari park provides a vehicle at a certain cost besides the entrance ticket.

The safari park is the most convenient place for me to vacation after the final semester exam. Already go here 2 times. Many animals vary, from Indonesia and outside Indonesia such as Africa and Australia. Wild animals make it more exciting, so visitors can interact closer to animals. Like feeding giraffe and elephants. Apart from giving food on animals, there are also very exciting and funny animal shows.

Ok let’s be serious though. All the panda photos on the website you’ll never see the panda like this. It is in an enclosure that is so far away that none of your cell phones will pick it up unless you have a zoom lens and a professional camera. Also to see it awake it’s highly unlikely. And they will try to sell you VIP window so you can see it closer up. Complete waste and cash of time although the restaurant and food was pretty good. The drive-through safari was OK you’re able to feed some animals carrots from your hand which is pretty cool. But good luck getting photos of the tigers and lions unless your windows are completely clean because they don’t allow your windows down when you drive through.

not as expensive as the bali safari. yet you can enjoy car ride along the enclosure with animals around us. you can buy carrots on the way up to the park (cheaper). these carrots to feed the “benign” mammals like zebras, deers. pay extra to be in a modified caged car to feed the carnivores. there are separate areas of small zoos where they kept reptiles, and large “cats”. You have to pay 20k rupiah for each person one photo session with adorable tiger cubs and lion cubs. there is also a play area but we didnt try since it was raining and crowded (covid risk)

My first experience of feeding animal from the vehicle. My son truly enjoy it so much, and it too bring the reminiscences of the first Jurassic park movie .

The tiger show was great and miss out some show which i believe its should be good

I visited this place to take animal pictures. And I was really feel excited. The animal collection was huge. Even though in drizzle I still could get good pictures.
The location was around 2 hours from Surabaya.
