Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The walled garden is small - but pretty. The rest of Hare Hill is akin to a normal walk in any country park. It's also very small! It took me all of 30 minutes to walk all the way round it. For £9 entry - if you're not a National Trust member It's poor value for money!

We travelled to Hare Hill today for a morning walk with our dog. We live locally and have wanted to try Hare Hill for a while however will not be returning. We were greeted by two very rude staff members in a very hostile approach. They didn’t bother to welcome us by saying good morning and asked we were expected to walk with a dog. We said we hadn’t been before and asked for their guidance. Their response was that we could only walk in the muddy field a joined to the garden and not the gardens they also said that dogs must be kept on a short lead. We agreed, however disappointed by the amount of mud and had to turn around after a few minutes. You would have thought we had turned up with an offensive animal rather than a cockapoo and won’t be visiting again due to the staff.

We are limited in how much we can visit as I rely on a wheelchair. The grounds are nice, but there are an awful lot of steps which meant parts are inaccessible for those with mobility problems. The walled garden was disappointing as most walled gardens we have visited are crammed with beautiful beds.

We took four 3/4year olds and had the best morning. There were activity backpacks available for the kids with magnifying glass and binoculars. The kids had a fantastic time. The walled garden is absolutely beautiful and the kids loved running around. It was open enough we could sit on the picnic blankets in the middle and be able to see the children. Diane who was in the hut was incredibly lovely and we will absolutely be back soon.

First time back after a few years. Pleasant gardens to walk about (but quite expensive if you are not a NT member).
Not a lot of colour and in several places the foliage hangs very low or encroaches the footpaths from the side, suggesting a little more attention required.

Hare Hill park is quite small but an enjoyable trip to have a picnic in the peace and quiet.
The signage enroute is very discrete and easily missed and the drive needs the pot holes repairing!!
I think this property does miss out on not having a coffee shop/van at least as it almost expected these days.
However, very pleasant especially if you are local.

Admittedly there is not a lot to see at this time of the year but an enjoyable walk through the garden/grounds but I know from previous visits summer time the gardens great. Snowdrops are amazing and worth seeing. I know from being a volunteer at another nearby NT site that a lot of hard work is carried out by staff and volunteers to keep places like this from disappearing, so I really get annoyed at reading negative reviews, especially people who moan about the entrance fee, my answer to this is, become a member support the National Trust and take advantage of all the sites in the area.

A bit of a garden with some hare sculptures in - OK. For some reason the NT have deemed it necessary to ban dogs completely and the warden seemed to take some pleasure in telling me this. It is the sort of property that makes me question why I remain a member.
On the positive side, Alderly Edge is nearby and is great for dog walks!

Other than the rhododendron colours, this place is a run down dump. I am surprised that the NT still supports it. You can walk the one way trail in 30 minutes tops.

We did the circular walk from Alderly Edge. When we made it to Hare Hill we was a little lost and was looking for signs/ maps. The staff member who approached us was very unfriendly, unwelcoming and down right rude. He simply could have directed us towards the route or map but was more interested in us being aware we wasn't allowed in Hare Hill because we have the audacity to own a dog. Not that the NT had bothered to inform its customers on its various signs along the route, only to keep them under control while crossing farm land. Thankfully some people with manners walked by and pointed us in the right direction. The National Trust need to address this issue or introduce "basic manners" into their staff / volunteers training. This hostile behaviour seen today only projects a poor image of the NT.

The growing season Is coming to an end but the trees may be looking good! There isn’t a great lot to see there anyhow because the National Trust haven’t had the property for very long.

Just reading the National Trust publication 'Events for Sring 2016'. On 24th and 25th May, Hare Hill is open from 6pm-8pm.
Has anyone been on these open evenings and could you tell me a little about your visit.
Thank you.
Regards
Maria
