This magnificent cross is well preserved and presented with its 2 adjacent smaller stones. A good sign board explains the significance of the stones and there history. The adjacent graveyard supplements the value of stopping here. These help to remind you of our passing through...More

A place of interest to those who want to see one of the oldest Celtic crosses in Ireland Much visited but sadly ignored by locals and not given the profile it deserves by the tourist board

Interesting carved cross believed to date from the 7th century, located by the roadside outside Carndonagh. The cross and two tablets are under a protective structure. Well worth a stop if you are passing through Carndonagh.

Interesting archaeological site in the village, no fee to enter, with old church yard adjacent with more items to see. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Local info panel gives history of the cross.

Beautifully decorated crosses, but difficult to photograph. There is another cross in the graveyard which is well worth visiting.

Easy to miss. it's along the road but not really sign-posted exactly. it is covered. there's parking right next to it. it's ok and worth a quick stop as it is important historically.

The cross is easy to find and there is parking along side on the road. The cross itself is preserved from the elements by a roof built overhead. It's so cool that we can get to see history close up and take pictures and touch....More
