I 'm no wildfowl expert but have never seen so many wild fowl in the one location before. I suspect this was probably due to the time of year when lots of geese and duck etc. come south to the winter

Spent an hour walking along the trails which in the spring hosted a lot of birds. We didn’t see many waterfowl, plenty of Mute Swans but the birds in the hedgerows kept us occupied.

Great walk, very easy to do. Lots of parking and picnic opportunities along the way. Lots of wildlife to see if you have binoculars bring them!

We had a really good day here, lots to see and the hides were well maintained. Nice walks too. There are also great views from the disabled platform at one end of the reserve.

I'm a local. Don't tell anyone about this place. I don't want to share it. Thank God the map on TripAdvisor is wrong...no one will find it😎

About ten minutes from Derry this is a beautiful place to walk and find some peace and quiet. This was my second visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's completely flat and is suitable for prams. Great spot!

Nice walk and opportunity for photos shouldn't take more than an hour if you're just bimbling along-suitable for those with a disability as all on the flat. See various birds and visit the small hide hut with binoculars.

There is one access to the island, through a bridge, and various accesses to hides along the coast on the mainland. It's located at a 10 minutes drive from Buncrana. Along the bridge you can stop to spot Tufted Ducks, Great Crested Grebes (we saw...More
