Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice place, easy to access, but no one says that there are rip currents, sometimes strong ones, that should be paid attention. Use caution please.
Lugar agradable, de facil acceso pero cuidado con la resaca, a veces es fuerte y peligrosa.

Sabang beach was one of the great finds of our three week vacation in the Philippines. By far one of the best beaches we found on our whole trip.
We stayed at Daluyon (see my separate review) which is located at the far end of the beach, away from the busy dock area making it extremely tranquil. The long beach is flanked by stunning mountainside and bordered by a towering row of beautiful palm trees. It still only takes 15 minutes or so at a casual pace to walk end to end.
The beach itself is very wide - making it great for sand play for the kids - and is made of soft off white sand. The water is very clean - no green algae like in Boaracay - and has some decent swell for those that like swimming/playing in the wave. The shallower part is also very suitable for toddler play - our 2 year old had a ball. Just like any beach, it can have its calm days and its rough days.
Chilling out on the Daluyon beach lounges with a freshly made mango juice after a dip in the beautiful water is an experience I will remember for a long time.
Only 1.5 hours from Puerto, you really have no excuse to miss this spot if you visit Palawan.

A beach that is flanked by the Sabang Boat Terminal and the Mangrove tree forest, and only takes about one hour walk from end to end (and return) on tannish brown sand. The water is very clear and warm, but the waves maybe very high at times (over 3 plus meters one day we were there) with strong winds during the winter months. Beach extends well into the water before getting over your head, but seems widest just in front of the Daluyon Beach Resort.
There is a mix of accomodations from the very basic to a nearly 5-star resort, the Sheridan Resort (not the Sheraton!). Also, the main road (a very basic one lane sand road) runs along the beach from one end to the other.

Sabang beach offers much more than the underground river. You can easily spend some days here. Beach, mangrove forrest, bird watch, zipline ....

Beautiful beach, we went there with our 16months old baby.
We were at the Daluyon resort.
The sand and the water are beautiful and the atmosphere of the jungle at the back and the Mountains around is superb.

Sabang Beach is one of the better beaches in Puerto Princesa. It faces North, towards the West Philippine Sea and is about two hours on paved roads from the Puerto Princesa city, although the Barangay, Cabayugan where Sitio Sabang is Located is part of Puerto Princesa City. There is a Police station in the middle of the beach wharf area but there is no medical facilities , banks or ATMs here, bring your meds or a first aid kit. Electricity here is self generated by the owners of establishment
Sabang Beach is where the wharf for the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River (Underground River) is located, it is its gateway. The beach is also home for two four-star hotels, Sheridan and the three-time ASEAN Eco-Green Hotel Awardee (Hall of Fame) Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort. There are other smaller back packer place and smaller restaurants one can have a decent meal.
The beach is fine sand, and no rocks on the beach (Only at the end of the beach towards the Mangrove Trails) and is ideal for swimming. However it can dangerous on certain times of the year as the waves can be huge and there is always a warning on rip tides. A coastguard station is located at the middle part of the beach that warns visitor of the beach's conditions.
Other activities in this beach (aside from the underground river tour) are the Mangrove tour where you can try the paddle boat ride, walking tour to the Waterfalls, passing some temples and spend the day in its man made pool of mountain water, the famous Sabang Zipline, an 800 meter ride with the fantastic view of the ocean, or just simply lazing at the beach, drinking buco juice or having a massage in the many mini spa and massage hut doting this beach!
Trip here six times daily Via Alexxus Van Transport (UV Express) from the San Jose Market Terminal, satarting at :7:30 am and last trip is at 5:30PM. You can find modest but inexpensive lodging and travel back the next day!

This is a nice beach with some different resorts offering accommodation. The water is warm and clear and the only thing which might disturb you are all the boats going back and forth to the underground river. The waves become pretty high when it’s windy so you need to be a bit careful.

Staying in sabang in November. Can I arrange underground river tour myself once there?
Written 7 July 2019
You most certainly can arrange the underground river tour from any guesthouse in the area. And by staying in Sabang overnight you'll go early in the morning thus beat the organized tour crowds who come from far off places. We stayed at Sabang for three nights if I recall correctly. The beach is beautiful.

We will visit sabang in September this year. Where is the nearest local market where we can buy local made products/ food for pasalubong to our family?
Written 6 May 2018
The village itself is tiny . No other town nearby. You’ll find local products there all very cheap. There is nothing special or unique or expensive to be bought. All are just meters away from your lodging. We really liked the nature and beach there. Enjoy it!

I would like to do the Honda bay island hopping but if I stay at sabang, is it possible to from there? Are the boats doing the tour from sabang?
Written 5 April 2018
Hi Gienah,
Honday bay is on the complete opposite side of the island.
It might not look that far on the map, but it is many hours to travel by taxi or van to get there from Sabang.

Wanting to book underground river tour, where staying in sabang Sheridan but wanted to book in trip advisor but the tour starts in Puerto princess
Written 7 October 2017
No need to book in advance. Im staying here as I'm writing this answer.
You can walk out onto the beach and book with one of the tour guides there. when you walk out from the sheridan facing the beach turn to your right walk 20 feet and you'll see a small tour guide hut. 1200php for the underground tour and you can only book one day in advance.
Its perfect. Buy your lunch after the tour on the beach.
You'll meet at 8am walk to the dock which is 5min away take a 15min boat ride which is undercover so no need for sunblock. Take the tour and you'll be back by about 10:30am/11am
If you choose to walk back through the jungle trail it costs 200php and takes about 2hrs+
