Pefki gorge is deep and narrow and would be difficult if people had not put in climbing aids. Most of the walk is easy, well marked paths and reasonable footing, but... there are several spots where you need to clamber, scramble, climb ropes, use tree...More

Near to the village of Mithi,this beautiful gorge combines hiking in nature with mountaineering;short in length and easy to walk,it is crossed by the river Knopotamos and is defined by its rich vegetation and the small lakes that are created near the rocks ;

Others have described the trip clearly. The gorge was completely dry on October 1, 2018. We had all kinds of fun. One thing I will add is that Google Maps has a destination point for the parking area at the bottom of the gorge ("Sarakinas...More

We took the hike early September, which is probably the driest time you can get there, nonetheless a lovely hike to take at any time of the year. It is also not crowded with tourists like other more popular gorges in Crete, which makes the...More

Excellent hike. Definitely not a walk in the park though. Some climbing of rocks and passing through the water is required. I would advise to walk the Canyon upwards. This is one of those opportunities to exercise and experience beautiful nature

Challanging climb 2 days after a heavy rain, 9 from 11 people returned as it was too difficult to them. During dry season it might be OK. But one of the nicest gorges in Crete.
