The Black Tower is situated just next to the main square. It's definitely worth visiting as you get the best view all over the city. It's also a nice experience climbing it, however you have to be very careful as in some places the stairs are extremely steep.

Can't say much about it except it is centrally located on the old town square in Budvar (Budweis). Did not go in, door was closed and not marked with tourist information. Beautiful though.

Quite a regular thing to do here in Czech cities, climb a tower to get a nice view and learn a bit about the city's history. But this tower provides a really great view of the southbohemian pearl.

By far the best place to see the entire town with couple stops on the way up, so that you can check the history of the tower, old bells etc.

This is a very interesting landmark. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with small children or mobility issues. The stairs are very steep and even worse when wet. Everything is in good condition it is just very steep. View from top is amazing and well worth the climb. We loved this Czech town!

Worth a visit if you don't mind stairs. Decent views from the top and entrance is very reasonable at 30 koruna.

Not much to say about the tower except that it offers the best view of the town square and surrounding area of Ceske Budejovice. Price for the tower is quite reasonable. Narrow staircase on the way to the top so make sure to take your time, especially if it's busy.

We climbed the Tower this afternoon to view the city. It is a wonderful piece of architecture!! It was built in 1553. The climb begins with two stories of a circular stone staircase. It is very narrow and steep. Above the stone staircase there is a series of steep wooden stairs. It is not scary as there are several wooden... More

Interesting landmark, you can't really miss it, it's just off the main square. Has interesting appearance but nothing more

Interesting tower with great views from the top. Some lovely old bells inside, the largest dating back to 18th Century and weighing nearly 3.5 tonnes.
