About
Get to know the Pilsner Urquell legend! We brewed the first pilsner type lager in the world with its characteristic full taste and limpid golden colour in 1842. It has been a model beer for more than 80% of existing beer brands so far. It owes its uniqueness to high quality ingredients and a unique brewing procedure. Go on a tour of the Pilsner Urquell brewery, and get to know the story of the legend born in 1842.

Interesting tour through the legendary brewery. First beer, the lager Pilsner type- bottom fermentation brewed in 1492 by Josef Groll. You will learn about the ingredients, beer manufacturing, visit the cellars and taste unpasteurized beer. The tour can be taken individually duration about 60 min, 100 CZK open every day from 10 am to 6 pm.

After the museum tour you can take the beer taping school at the e Secese centre (very nice interior). The program includes: Workshop of beer tapping and care for beer, Unlimited consumption of Pilsner Urquell beer tapped by yourself, delicious goulash and one a half-litre Pilsner Urquell beer glass. The tour in many languages available.

You can buy the tickets on the brewery website or at the visitor center. There are plenty of tours every day in Czech, German or English. It costs only 10 euros. The tour is a multisensorial experience. You see, you smell, you taste every ingredient of the beer production. The guide explained in detail every step. The brewery itself is a historical place, really worth a visit for beer lovers. In the end, you get to taste the beer direct from the barrel in the beer cellar, it couldn't taste better. Amazing!

A must see if you are just a bit interested in the history of the pilsener. The brewery is the right in the middle where the pilsener was created some 180,years ago. An interesting tour thru the historical part and the modern part of the brewery competently guided by an entusiastic and well prepared guide. Cant remember her name, but she was very good and easy to understand. The tour ends in the cellar where a small amount af unfiltered and unpastaurized Urqell are still lagered on huge barrels. You get to taste this direct from the barrel and that isba truely great beer.

Amazing tour full of history and knowledge. But…the flow of the tour was wrong. Tell a story from start to finish! Yet this journey started basically at the end - with bottling. More than one beer would have been nice too. BUT WORST OF ALL IS CUSTOMER SERVICE. We had to change our preferred day for a large group tour. We provided them 36 hours advance notice. Yet they are closed on the weekends (despite tours operating). So we had to book the tickets a second time and then requested a refund on the original booking. They refused. This is highly disappointing considering the money we spent on the tour and especially merchandise in the shop afterwards. Beware!

We took a day trip to Pilsen from Prague in order to visit the brewery, and it was great! The brewery complex is a short walk from the train station. There is a visitors center, the brewery, a gift shop, and a restaurant within the gates. Be sure to sign up for a tour ahead of time, since different languages are held at different times. Our guide was very interesting, and we got to drink out of the barrel at the end of the tour. Lots of fun!

Pilsner Urquell is killer beer & this was an opportunity to see how it's made.
The tour is pretty long, around 2 hours & ours was quite busy but we really enjoyed it & our guide was excellent.
You see how the beer is brewed, stored, bottled & shipped as well as learning about the history of the brewery & the beer itself.
Best part, trying the unfiltered (unpasteurised) beer down in the cellar. I love unfiltered beer, so that was a real treat.
If you're coming to Plzen, definitely come here, it's a brilliant way to learn about the history, not just of the city's most famous export, but the city itself.
Great attraction.

Great tour available in many languages. Tour guide kept us engaged. Exclusive taste test (for 18+) of unfiltered beer straight from the barrel at the end as it had just finished brewing. Good H&S, humour would recommend for anyone, especially those into cultural history and beer.

Unfortunately our guide was very shy and calm. He was not passionate. A guided tour needs interaction, good stories, some funny anecdotes. There weren't any highlights. I learnt almost nothing about the Pilsener Urquell Company. Just Wikipedia-Stuff. :(

THE tour of the brewery was very interesting. The brewery is huge and you move between the various sectors by bus, beautiful idea to taste the ingredients of the beer and fabulous visit to the brewery in operation. We are talking about the most important beer in the world! Great tour of the ancient basements, where beer still matures, with a taste of beer tapped directly from wooden barrels: Super!! The tour ends in the gift shop, with lots of small things at modest prices. Absolutely to see
