Top ways to experience St. Salvator Church and nearby attractions

The area
Neighbourhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

We purchased early bird tickets for a classical concert at the church on a Saturday evening, priced at about £15 each. Concert lasted for just over an hour.

Three soloists and four others string musicians, playing music written by Vivali< Beethoven, Mozart ansd many others.

Bench seats were not very comfortable but they were heated, on a cold evening.

Located by the Charles Bridge, this beautiful church is the perfect setting, both for quick access to the bridge and for the excellent acoustics from the concert we enjoyed there. The concert programs vary, and we enjoyed selections from Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons," Beethoven's 5th symphony, Mozart's Requiem, and also pieces by J.S. Bach, Verdi, Handel, and Dvorak, all performed by members of the Royal Czech Orchestra. A definite highlight was Schubert's Ave Maria, rendered exquisitely by soprano Marie Fajtova. Whether listening to this excellent concert and drinking in with your eyes the grandeur of this church or closing your eyes to enhance the sounds of the sweet music, this 65-minute concert is well worth your time and money.

We bought tickets for the classical concert st St Salvator Church from Prague Classic Concerts. The musicians were excellent but the seating is so terrible that it made the experience less enjoyable. There is a horizontal strip across the back of the pews that makes leaning back uncomfortable at best. I watched so many other people leaning forward during the hour long concert - and people were talking about it on the way out. I wouldn't go back to this venue again.

We were told that these concerts were worth seeing in Prague as they were too expensive in other countries like Austria - they were right! The seats ranged in price. I recommend the seats at the back as you can take in the magnificence of the church and get the best surround sound acoustics. For those wanting sunset pictures of Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, the concert finishes just before sunset, so you can cross the road and join the masses to get that perfect photo!

The 1 hour event was held in the chapel - which itself is stunning as the sun sets over Prague and Charles Bridge across the road. It consisted of 12 pieces of music played by a selected of musicians from the Royal Czech Orchestra accompanied by a female soprano who sang twice, including a haunting rendition of Ave Maria. The acoustics in the church made her vocals pop. There were also organ solos which made your hair stand on edge, very captivating. The strings sections stole the show for me. I kept my eyes shut for a lot of the performances and at times was carried away with the moving pieces.

Fantastic concert in a beautiful setting, great value for money and worth every penny. We paid for the cheapest seats and offered a free upgrade sitting on the front row. Performance was excellent, the musicians and soprano made the hairs stand up on my arms! Goosebumps! Real treat to experience.

Located just off Charles Bridge, Old Town of Prague is St Salvator Church.
This is a wonderful looking church constructed between 1578-1601 and built from designs from architect's Carl Lurago, Francesco Caratti and Frantisek Maxmilian Kanka and is a great example of Baroque style architecture, its one of several really impressive churches in Prague Old Town and is most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area near Charles Bridge.

The wonderful Old Town is a great place to visit ,walking into the Old Town through the Old Town Bridge Tower you are confronted with two churches ,Church Of Francis Of Assisi and this church.
St Salvator Church was constructed between 1578-1601 ,a great examples of Baroque architecture but strangely enough when it was originally constructed it was designed in the Gothic style of architecture ,it's a beautiful church to view ,just off Charles Bridge ,it's most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.
