Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I purchased some crystal in Prague at another store, but this place was wonderful and service was excellent.

Did not get all of my purchases delivered. They charged me for all purchases and postage, the store agreed to a refund but would not honour the agreement. I have been chasing them for a month, still have not got my money back. I am having to go through the credit card dispute resolutions. Very disappointed, do not shop there.

Over the years we have accumulated quite a collection of Bohemian crystal. It started out with wine glasses, water glasses, bowls, vases and sconces. Unique pieces. But the most ambitious purchase was a massive crystal chandelier that has been hanging and looks spectacular in our dining room. It came unassembled in several boxes, the only way to get it on the plane. We took a leap of faith that it will be complete to the last crystal drop and to our relief-it was. Even though it had to be assembled and rewired (handy husband) in the US - we now have a stunning conversation piece in our house.
When we were buying, the exchange rate was really favorable and we got ourselves a "bargain".
The garnet and amber jewelry make nice and quality souvenirs .
If you make a larger purchase, and qualify for the refund of the VAT tax , it is definitely worth filling out the forms that should be supplied, filled out and stamped by the store. The rules are a little convoluted (can't combine purchases?), but at the end we managed to get the refund at the airport.
Even if you have no intention of buying, stop by and take a look at what the Czechs do rather well, Bohemian glass and crystal is famous all over the world.
...and If you are not buying, the visit is free.

Walking from the Powder Tower along Celetna to the Old Town Square you pass countless crystal glass shops. This is one of the more elaborate ones and you can't resist being drawn inside by the alluring sparkle. The Czech republic excels in cut glass and some of the creations here are simply astounding. Smaller affordable pieces are available, some verging on the gaudy.

If you ask around you may get referred to Celetna Crystal store for crystal, garnet or other purchases. My friend and I went there a couple of times to get a feel for prices and merchandise. Prices are competitive for a quality product. We bought jewelry primarily but there is much more to the store. I know some folks prefer to purchase bohemian crystal at home, still in my opinion worth checking out not just for crystal but for other things.

Be sure and hit all floors for ideas. There is also a 3% discount if you use cash vs. credit and I suspect if you ask at the concierge desk or from a tour guide you can get another 5% discount. Our guide provided ours.

Service however feels a bit light for a store of the quality and size. You will need to ask for help. Once engaged, they will make effort to find inventory you are interested in the store.

An example of a small thing that could differentiate the service if they desired, to take advantage of a VAT refund required spending around 130 dollars (2000 CZ) and the clerks are not particularly forthcoming with reminders or even prompts.

All in all, worth the visit!!!
