The area

Neighbourhood: Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

Walking through Wenceslas Square at night heading to the Old Town I passed Wenceslas Fountain ,a beautiful fountain I've viewed many times on many trips to Prague and it still impresses me.
I love the detail of the fountain,it's perfect ,the best looking fountain in Prague ,the statues, the well detailed fountain and the stunning location ,it's in front of the stunning Narodni Museum and behind the fabulous Wenceslas Monument,it's a great fountain to check out and with summer fast approaching will look magnificent with the water flowing.
Easy to locate on Vaclavske Namesti and well worth checking out.

As we walked into Wencelas Sqaure we were greated with a stunning fountain that looked down on the square. Great spot for photos. Beautiful when lit up at night!

This is a different fountain than most and stands out in the area. Great statues and carvings and very interesting the closer you are. Lots of detail to discover. Not working in June 2019 but this is still worth the visit.

If you visit Prague, make sure to visit Charles Bridge, the Clock, etc. But also, make sure to leave Old Town to visit this fountain. I love to walk, so this is definitely within walking distance of all of the great places to see in Prague. I've been singing about Good King Wenceslas all of my life at Christmas time, so this was a chance to put a song with a location. Hop on Hop Off Tours will bring you to this location as well.

This is found at the very top of Wenceslas Square in Prague.
Due to major construction on the National Museum it is turned off as the construction program is due to complete in November 2018. The statue of King Wenceslas is still available nearby.

Wenceslas Square is a beautiful place and the Fountain and Monument next to it are fine photo ops. We used it as a meeting point when we separated to do different activities in the city.
It won't make your jaw drop or anything, it's not massive or overly remarkable. But it is ornate and pretty and worth a look.

At the top of Wenceslas Square or Vaclavske Namesti is the National Museum, and in front of it is the fountain. Unfortunately when we were there the entire museum was covered over including the statutes, covered by wooden boxes, and the fountain, with a domed covering over it. See my pic. However, I have seen this in the past and it is a small but cute fountain. Nothing spectacular as far as fountains go, but with the museum as a backdrop, when everything is uncovered, makes for a beautiful sight. You will automatically see it when in Wenceslas Square or at the museum.

Good king Wenceslas looked out on the......square name after him!! The Czechs love their statues, there are thousands of them in Prague, and this is probably one of the finer examples, and Oh my! What a setting, the top of a hill, with the very grandiose but closed at the moment, National Museum sitting like an Empress behind it. Time to get the Nikon out, and strike a pose, photographic heaven!!
