Neighbourhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

    Charming
Mala Strana is a charming neighbourhood. Colorful houses, impressive buildings and architecture, old shops. It is perfect for a chill afternoon walk. Just cross the Charles Brigde and you'll be there.

Our favorite side of the city
There is so much to see on this side of the city, so be sure to take time over here when you are visiting the Prague Castle. We liked this side of the city even more than the city center. It felt a bit less crowded and a bit more at ease. There are many different parks and exhibits to see which will strike your fancy. Plenty of churches, historical buildings and pubs for you to spend at least a full day in this section of town. You should get a tour of it with a guide and then do some wondering on your own.

This part of the city is really magical. I think it is my favourite part of the city to walk through (and Prague is most probably my favourite city in Europe). The buildings are all picturesque, lined with red roofs. I could spend hours exploring here. Magic.

    Historic and Charming Neighborhood
Mala Strana(or Lesser Town) is a historic and quaint neighborhood in Prague just over the Charles Bridge and below Prague Castle. Our wonderful Hotel Pod Vezi was located here, and we got to experience the terrific ambience of the neighborhood quite a bit. It is a perfect location to stay when visiting the city. There is nothing "Lesser" about it and it is every much as charming as Old Town but with a lot less people. Highlights of the area include St Nicholas Church, the Lesser Town Tower Bridge and Neurodova Street that leads up to the Castle. However, it is also filled with shops, cafes, and some excellent restaurants with many serving traditional Czech food and beer at reasonable prices. U Tri Jelinku was our favorite. The best part of staying here was returning each night across the Charles Bridge. The view of the Lesser Town Bridge Tower, St Nicolas Church and Prague Castle all illuminated was pretty magical.

I've been visiting Prague for 30 years, its a fascinating and beautiful city that's constantly changing, one of the most historic and beautiful district's is Lesser Town .
The Lesser Town ( Lesser Quarter ) is an old district being founded in 1257,its located in the Castle District ( Hradcany) and is such an amazing area ,architecture is unbelievably beautiful, if you start exploring the area from Malostranske Namesti ( Lesser Town Square) you can take in the beautiful buildings that form this square and the stunning St Nicholas Church, great walking area's are found in this district including Petrin Hill and Kampa Island , throughout this district are an amazing amount of pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants ,its just an amazing district to visit if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

The architecture of Lesser Town is a captivating blend of baroque and renaissance styles, with every building seeming to tell a story of centuries gone by. Wandering through the labyrinthine alleys, I found myself immersed in the rich history of the area, from the imposing Prague Castle looming overhead to the quaint, picturesque houses lining the narrow streets.
