Beautiful Cathedral

Very nice from the outside and inside. Nice murals. Be aware that it can get very crowded as there are hoards of group toyrists pouring in but it is still well worth it.

I would say the best part about the cathedral is it's location inside the old royal palace here in Prague. A very unique winding experience with guards on duty and high walls so you have to keep weaving through the beautiful streets to find your way out! The cathedral is very big, with a lot to look at on the... More

Beautiful gothic cathedral with a rich history. We had chosen for one of the tours and used the audio guide. We found the part of the tour inside the cathedral to be just the right length. It was not too long.

No words can fully describe this cathedral. It is magnificent, regal, majestic, and absolutely gorgeous. Go in the daytime hopefully a very sunny day to get the full effect of the stained glass windows

We joined the crowds visiting the Cathedral, you can enter and have a brief look around and take in the stained glass windows without paying. We then bought a ticket to visit the Castle which included a full tour of the Cathedral and a few other exhibits which was a waste of money.

I was amazed by all the details already outside. We didn't buy a ticket so we could only visit the back of the cathedral.

This is clearly one of the most important sites to visit whilst in Prague. On the plus side it's pretty amazing and you can see a good part of it without having to pay an admission fee. On the negative side, there are far too many people. That said, it's a remarkable place with a real gothic elegance. I still... More

Throngs of folks everywhere, can see some of the insides without buying ticket. OK find ticket booth, ah can't get an individual ticket have to have circuit A or Circuit B. Couldn't be bothered as nothing else on those tickets appealed to us. Forget noon as that's when the guard changes with a fanfare so attracts a lot of footfall... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
