It's a bit outside of downtown Praha, but it's really worth a visit if you like art. Very wide and interesting permanent collection of Czech and international 19-20-21 centuries. Many masterpieces too. 5 floors. Tiring - you need many energies. Not so many chairs and sofas. A lot to read (always English and Czech), no interactive solutions. We have learnt... More

Mucha was great, the explanation in the leaflet that you have to buy separately (apart from the already pricey ticket) greatly enhanced our understanding. One thing to improve is to sort the paintings in the leaflet by the order in which they are displayed. Looking for the right one took a significant amount of time. The art was however degraded... Took a little bit of finding as it was our first day in the city but it was so worth it! The Mucha Slave epic is very well laid out and there was a small brochure that we bought that gave a couple of paragraphs about the background to each painting which was the right amount to take in during... Very disappointed! The modern (19-21 century) artwork was world-class, but the layout and lack of information was frustrating. I had always wanted to see Mucha's Slavic Epic, for example, but there was no information or explanations offered for these remarkable, huge canvases. Some patrons seemed to have some sort of information, but we were unable to get any of the... More

Out of the historic center, but well worth the trip to see the impressive Slav Epic, Mucha's series of paintings devoted to the history of the Slavic people. Uber was a quick and economical way to get there from our hotel in the Jewish Quarter.

If you're a fan of modern art, cubism, dadaism this is absolutely a grat place to visit, if not so it is not so necccesary. Place is very big (your feet will hurt you), but architecture is something special.

I'm not sure we were quite prepared for the size of the museum we were about to encounter, we only came primarily for the Slav Epic but were met with almost 5-6 floors of Czech architecture, modern art, abstract, medieval / renaissance paintings. The collection is impressive and at a fair price if you are an avid art enthusiast it... More

I knew that the building from 1925-29 would be worth a visit. However, to get there was a challenge. I knew the address and took the Metro. At the station one would expect some information (in English please) in which direction you should stroll. Some of the people working at the station were not able to help. On the nearby... More

Not many tourists will make it here but it is well worth the trip when you stay in Prague for 3 nights or more.

Who could have imagined, seeing the crowds of tourists on the Charles Bridge, that a couple of underground stations away is this superb collection of art, with scarcely a tourist in sight. We paid extra to see the exhibition of Mucha's Slav Epic, a series of 20 monumentally sized paintings. They were spectacular, but we wished there had been some... More
