A wonderful gothic style church with yet more gold. A great place to visit in the middle of the old Square.

The architecture of this place is speaking by itself. As I am fascinated by antique buildings, the name "Stare Mesto" (Old Town) was enough to get me there. Please take time to visit, for there are a lot of tourists. You can visit this almost 24 hours a day.

The top of this beatiful twin towered church domminates the centre of Prague but we struggled to find the entrance . After walking around the whole of the building we eventually discovered that you have to walk through the arch in the centre of Cafe Italia on the square to get to the front door ( not the alleyway to... Worth a visit, worth a sightseeing. We've been there for one hour, on the place and then in the building. The architecture is very impressive at night in winter (We were there with snow) and it felt like the towers were almost threatening/lowering... One of the first time we felt that in front of a monument.

This is an old church dating from the 14th century and sits behind a building that fronts onto the old town square. This building can't be missed as it has two tall towers and looks like a fairy tale castle. Inside is just as nice with a baroque style. Wait to see it at night when it is lit up... More

This building is so beautiful to look at, it's like your in a fairytale. It's one of the first buildings we seen and it really was worth going to see.

Well this is Prague, old cobbled streets, lots of shops, tourist ones, glassware,Russian dolls, cafes, restaurants and the square itself with the clock tower. Do stand and wait for the clock to reach the hour. At Christmas square is full of market stands, selling Christmas items and food.

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
