The area
Neighbourhood: Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

The old Sitkov Water Tower is an imposing sight and part of the Prague's landscape since the 15th century.
It used to supply water to Prague's fountains, now it just sits there :)
It is said , that the Tower is leaning by 1.5 meter. That's quite a lot. True or not, I don't know, and I can't tell. It looks the same to me as when I was running around as a kid.
If true, Prague has her own " Leaning tower of Pisa "
The Manes gallery is worth checking out, as is the great Manes restaurant ....

The water tower is an imposing sight and part of the Prague's landscape way before my time. Since the 15th century.
They say it is leaning by 1.5 meter, but I cannot tell.
It used to supply water to Prague's fountains . That is no longer the case. Now It just stands there looking impressive providing a stark contrast to the pastel color buildings in the background.
It seems to be enough ...
The Manes Gallery, named after a Czech painter houses mostly modern art.

The Vltava Water Tower is a pretty cool building located on a little park/island on the Vlata River. The tower is impressive, but the location is better. An afternoon trip at the right time sets the tower against a backdrop of pastel buildings bathed in soft sunlight – spectacular! Certainly worth a visit; I enjoyed it immensely.

We found this when we visited the Crypt below St Methodius Cathedral which is nearby here. The Tower was built to store water and was used to supply water for a fountain in New Town for about 200 years until 1913. The locals protested to keep it when the authorites suggested it be closed.
It is 47m high and is now a restaurant.

There are several former water towers scattered throughout Prague and Sitkov Water Tower is probably in my opinion the most beautiful.
Dating from around the 15th century, this splendid stone tower stands 47 metres high ,it looks amazing, when I first visited Prague 30 plus years ago I thought these were part of a once mighty defensive wall but later learned that this was how the inhabitants of the city got their water supply from water towers such as these, this tower is easy to locate along Mararykovo Nabrezi and is well worth checking out if you're in the New Town of Prague.

This beautiful water tower is quite photogenic. It supplied water since the 15th century and is certainly worth a look when at the Dancing House.
