About CAT Guided Tours
Let’s plan together a program or a journey through history according to your choice. Prague is so fabulous that it can be explored in all seasons. These tours are designed for very small groups, individuals, couples or families with a deep interest in cultural life, history and architecture. Suggested walks (1) The Old Town with picturesque streets, ‘Ungelt’, the original 9th Century market traders’ gathering place, the Old Town Square with the unique Old Town Hall and the famous Astrological Clock, the Church of Our Lady of Tyn, Karlova Street and Krizovnicke Square with their examples of different architectural styles. (2) Hidden secrets of the Jewish Town. We visit Maisel Synagogue, Pincas Synagogue, Old-New Synagogue – one of the oldest in Europe, Spanish Synagogue and the Jewish Cemetery with its ceremonial hall. (3) The Little Quarter. We may start with the visit of the church of Our Lady Victorious with the charming statue of Child Jesus, continue to the Vrtba garden with baroque statues. On the Lesser Town Square we visit the church of St. Nicholas. Then we continue via Wallenstein Street to Klarov and along U Luzickeho Seminare to the little island of Kampa – a beautiful place on the Vltava River. Afterwards we could discover the historic Maltese Square and Charles Bridge. (4) Prague Castle. Here we walk through four courtyards and have the opportunity to see the St. Vitus’ Cathedral, the Royal Gardens, interiors of the Royal Palace, the St. George Basilica with the oldest monastery in Bohemia and the famous Golden Lane. (5) Monasteries. With this walk we’ll find ourselves on one of the city hills with spectacular views of the city, the Castle and the river. The Strahov Monastery was founded in 1143 AD and belongs to the Order of Premonstratensians. In a leafy suburb we’ll find the Brevnov Monastery of the Benedictine Order. As the second oldest monastery in Bohemia it was founded in 993 AD. Art Nouveau and Cubist Architecture Municipal Building, Hotel Evropa, House U černé Matky Boží (Black Mother of the Lord)..... Eva took a group of other students and I on a tour through the Jewish Quarters and the Prague Castle. It was an absolutely beautiful experience. Not only did Eva navigate us through the sites but she was very knowledgeable on everything Prague and was happy to answer any questions we had. She also made sure we stopped for bathroom and water breaks as were walking all day, which I very much appreciated due to a previous tour guide that didn't seem to care. So worth the money to see these sites of Prague with Eva!!

Eva was the most wonderful guide for myself and my two sisters when we decided to visit my late mothers home town after she had left over 70 years ago. Not only did she investigate the old addresses that we had from the 1940's but also arranged to take us to each place, which for us was very emotional. Eva did her research very professionally and it was an absolute pleasure to have her company for the day. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is fun, very knowlegable and an absolute delight to be with. Thank you so much Eva

We have now gone with Eva on three separate tours. One excursion in 2015 took us to many sites in Prague, while another that same week brought us to Chesky Krumlov a wonderful historic city not far from Prague. Our third tour just this spring took us through parks, the Prague castle moat, little known neighborhoods near the castle, the Strahov Monastery where we sampled many local beers, and finally to Petrin Hill and the half-scale Ukrainian church below the mini Eiffel Tower. Eva is fantastic! A joy to be with, loaded with historic and other information and trivia, totally at ease in English, able to take you to places you don't read about in most guide books, and happy to give you insider tips -- such as how to visit some of the underground Roman and other historic areas beneath familiar city buildings and restaurants, where you'd never expect to find them. This was my fifth trip to Prague, going all the way back to 1969. And yet, I always learned new things and saw new places with Eva. We will always connect with her for at least one tour any time we are in Prague.
