Established in 2004 Tynska Bar and Books was the first overseas Bar and Books enterprise. The Czech Republic had just become a member of the European Union and its capital Prague is well known as one of the most beautiful European cities, rivaling Paris, London and Rome. Located in the heart of Prague, just steps away from the Old Town Square, perfectly hidden in a small cobblestone street with a spectacular view of the Tyn Church. Tynska Bar and Books is proof of how sophisticated Prague has become.

Our first venture to this little gem was on a Monday, women are presented with a free cigar. On Tuesdays whiskies are half price. Luca the barman was a great personality, could knock up any cocktail you required. Not a cheap bar but cost is...More

Yes, it's hard to forget yourself at our bar, right? Will pass the compliments to Luca too. And just to correct you - whiskies on Tuesday are not really half price, but they are discounted (discounts vary depending on the maturity of the drink). Thank...More

Thank you for all your praise, we really appreciate it! But we are not speakeasy. We have the eye-catcher on the outside and the torches :-) Still true, we are a bit off the beaten track and at night we may be harder to find....More

Don't get me wrong, the guy at the bar was a good person, but as professional he has a long way to go. Quality and taste of the cocktails he does r more for pubcrawls than for a good bar. Especially taking into account that...More

We are sorry to read you had bad experience with the job of our bartender. We passed your feedback to the staff on shift (at least we hope to know who was that; it would have been helpfull if you could have identified the bartender...More

Dusky bar with a classy feel. Soul music at a sociable volume. Attentive waitresses that show you to your seat. Cocktails were delicious and bar staff happy to make you a drink of your choice.

Good cocktails and whiskey selection. Limited seating, but I've never had a problem getting one. The place is a bit hidden compared to others in Prague 1 so that could be why. Great place nonetheless. The only downside is they do allow smoking throughout, however...More

Thank you very much for your review. Our bar in Tynska is smaller, however there is another one in Manesova, Prague 2, if you ever have a problem getting seated... Smoking is allowed not only because the law allows it in CR, but also because...More

Early night cocktails at the bar tasted fantastic, especially the pumkinita! Decor was nice and cosy, old James Bond films playing and groovy music- sometimes a bit too loud though.

Hidden away in the backstreets about 5 min from the main square is this special little place. Blink and you could miss it as the signage is poor and it looks closed, i think this is intentional in order to retain a certain level of...More

Sophisticated bar but smaller than what it appears to be in the photos. I expected more alcohol in the drinks but they serve the typical volume.

Thank you! We have another venue in Prague called Manesova Bar and Books, located in Prague 2. If you come in bigger group we recommend you to go there, it has much larger capacity.

Books... Drinks and cigars....! If you want a cozy but still sophisticated night, talking by the low light of candles this is the place to be! Services is absolutely fun and serious, great suggestions for cocktails by the friendliest French waiter.. Awesome atmosphere!

Thank you for your review. Our bar is small so during the busy hours it can get packed, like in other bars in the central area.
