Overview

More
On the Old Town side of Charles Bridge, this Gothic tower built in 1373 is flanked by sculptures of St Vitus and Charles IV. Open to the public,it offers excellent views of the Old Town and the Vltava River to visitors who climb the narrow staircase. The tower once displayed the heads of twelve Protestant leaders executed in 1621, and was also the site of the final conflict of the Thirty Years War (1618-1648).

I honestly was not the biggest fan of Prague in general, but this was one of the sites I adored. Gorgeous views and full of history. Lots of amazing buildings and people, but the city itself is not for me.

There is a narrow spiral staircase that goes to the top (for a fee). The view is really something. The angle for taking pictures of the Charles Bridge is something all by itself. The stair climbing is not recommended for people who have any difficulty...More

Our hotel, Pod Vezi (best hotel ever!) offered free tickets to climb the tower, so we did so a number of times. Great views of a beautiful city. Worth the climb up steep stairs.

Probably the best views in Prague, with Charles Bridge in front of you and the castle up in the distance. An absolute bargain at 100 crowns, and also a couple of exhibits to look at on your way up the tower. An absolute must.

One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents
