Klášterní Pivovar Strahov (Strahov Monastic Brewery) is one of the best kept secrets in Prague. This is the home of the St Norbert’s Brewery where the specialty craft beer has been brewed by monks since the 17th century. It has been fully restored in 2000 and today is a fully functioning brewery that serves the St Norbert Craft Beer. Within... More

My 21 year old son and I had a great meal at the Strahov Monastery restaurant. It was a cold wintery day, but it was so cozy inside. We had a view of the city from a little window over our table. We had a delicious soup with Monk's bread. The bread was thick and chewy and wonderful. Then we... More

We went for dinner and beers last night. It is a little hard to find but they have signs that lead you up a pathway and then we entered a building with stairs that go down into a restaurant that's in a cave...so cool. Beers are pretty inexpensive and the food is traditional Czech. The food was a little pricier... More

Best beer in Prague! Why not cap off a stroll through the park with a nice cold beer from this place? Great to sit outside and take in the gorgeous building and wildlife. Food is not too shabby either. Very reasonably priced and excellent service.

Nice quite place, tucked into the side of a hill overlooking Prague's districts. Great beers as recommended by a friend, well coupled with a relaxing atmosphere!

The food is very good. The beer is tasty as well. Outside has heaters for cool nights. Very enjoyable.

Great beer, great view overlooking Prague. Service left a bit to be desired. Still worth checking out to get something different than Pilsner.

After a nice scenic walk here we were lucky enough to get the last available table. Had a lovely meal Beef Goulash and Pork Knuckle were both excellent The brewery also has a good selection of beers on offer.

I had higher expectations for this place. The food was just meh and the service was really poor. The beer was good though! If anything go for that.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
