This is not worth going out of your way for. I cannot believe the service at this place. My husband and I walked all the way here from Old Town (about a 30 minute walk) because we were recommended it as a cute old monastery well-known for the beer brewing for hundreds of years. What a disgrace - The service... More

After ending our half-day walking tour to the Prague Castle we stopped into the Brewery to taste the beer. The beer was good (we are not fond of the pilsner's) and hot chocolate was warm and tasty. We sat outside with the heaters to avoid the crowds and stayed warm. Good value and the staff was friendly and made an... More

This was a disappointing visit as arrived to find restaurant shut for a function and the bar too full to sit and drink or eat. Tip is to check restaurant is open. However, did sample the St Norbert Beer which was tasty. Easy to walk to from the Castle and work up an appetite. The bar was in a nice... More

The restaurant had a nice view of the city, the beer was, in our opinion, overrated. Still at a good price compared to other countries in Europe, the beer is more expensive than anywhere else in Prague. Service was courteous, however they gave us and charged us for larger beers than what we had ordered.

We visited on cold morning about 10.30am. Its really just a restaurant. We took the tram 22 four stops from malostranka...signs to it from there. A few people there...sat down and just looking at the menu and waiter immediately over..."what you want"...i said we would need a couple of minutes...he was like what language you speak...english...what you want? two minutes?... After asking 4 times for a missing hamburguer and waiting for an hour, the waiter decides to tell us that they ran out. No apologies, quite the opposite, the staff is just rude. And they took a loooooong time to bring the rest of the order. In Prague you can find lots of amazing pivobars and breweries, I don't know... More

We loved this place so much we came back twice! The beer is DELICIOUS (spoken as someone who doesn't drink beer normally) and the interiors are warm and cosy. The perfect place to warm up after the walk up the hill on a winters day!

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
