About
MeetFactory is a non-profit international center for contemporary art founded in 2001 by the artist David Černý. In the wake of the destructive floods of 2002, MeetFactory was forced to evacuate its previous premises in Holešovice. The project was resurrected three years later in an industrial building in Prague's quarter Smíchov, in a unique space squeezed between a motorway and an active railroad. The program started after a substantial reconstruction in 2007. The program of MeetFactory consists in four dramaturgic departments - music, theatre, gallery and the artist-in-residence program.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to picture this on the 20/10/2024. Matilda, Christopher and Elizabeth made the experience excellent. Service was top notch, Niamh and Liam thoroughly enjoyed this experience! They should defo be paid way more money than they are!!
Best of luck your Irish friends

Probably our coolest and most memorable experience in Prague. We visited for the latest photo exhibition launch night - great space, easy to get to (if you follow the website instructions) and wonderfully welcoming and open. If anything is on, you should make the time to go.

For alternative/independent art lovers/artist only. Very local place, just a few steps from a railway going southwest of Smichovske nadrazi (train station). So if you like trainspotting, this is the place! You can also enter and have a look inside. Normally you can enter any space you like so you can talk directly to the artists in the process of creating ... just ask what you like to know. Lot of concerts, parties and performances as well, check the program. Prague at its best, especially for young open-minded people of any age.

I've been living in Prague for a couple of years now and although I initially came to MeetFactory primarily for music events.. I find myself going there more and more because of the variety offered within their program. I've had nothing but positive experiences at the many gallery events, exhibitions, and theater productions I've attended. The exhibitions are executed to a high professional standard and have an interesting conceptual basis. Admission is done on a voluntary basis so you don't have to worry about paying a lot of money for something you don't enjoy. If you have the opportunity to attend a cultural event here in the evening- I would highly recommend it. There's always an interesting mix of people in attendance and it's generally a good place to meet new people in a laid back environment. There is always something interesting or surprising going-on- so you will never get bored at MeetFactory :) It's a little out of the way from the center- but easily accessible by tram or bus .. worth the extra effort to see something that's definitely a unique and indispensable contribution to Prague's art scene!

Meetfactory is a 'must go' place when visiting Prague.
Great gallery, theather, but most of all great concerts and parties. If there is someone interesting performing in Prague there's a big possibility it will take place in Meetfactory.
Also atmosphere is very friendly and lot of times you can chat and have a beer with musicians or current residents!
Located in the industrial building, the surface of the building decorated with art pieces by David Cerny makes the atmosphere even more special.

What a waste of time. An hour to get out there, then in and out in less than two minutes. I didn't pay anything, I didn't expect anything, yet still I felt ripped off. As much as I appreciate public art and David Cerny's sculptures around this great city, securing public funds for this so called 'cultural centre' must have been the Czech con job of the century. And what do you find there? A coffee shop/bar with no customers, and a large exhibition space with maybe a half dozen lame works of art. Who can be bothered to come out to this void in the middle of a decrepit industrial park anyhow? If I was a Czech taxpayer I wouldn't be too happy supporting this hollow shell. In short, despite their grandiose web site claims, there is nothing to see here. Pull the plug on it, I say.

Hello, thank you for visiting us. We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your trip. We encourage visitors to check our website before visiting, as sometimes we can be in-between events and gallery exhibitions. We host about 300 events per year, but sometimes it so happens that there is no evening program on certain days, and some of our galleries may be closed for installation. If you have any other comments or suggestions for improvement, please contact us at pr@meetfactory.cz Regards, Christina

I recently went to a concert here and was surprised by this venue. Figuring out how to get to the entrance from the tram was a little difficult but easy with Google Maps. The venue is a decent size for a standing-room only show and the bar is fairly priced.

The Meetfactory is a refurbished old factory/slaughterhouse which has been repurposed to house studios for young artists. In addition there is a concert venue and a theater. The whole project was created under the leadership of the Czech artist David Cerny.

I was there for a party. The place is very big. Siting place for more than 200 people and just for dancing party more than 500 ( It's look like). Nice bar with normal prices.

If only they will take care of the place more it can be even better.

We visited during Hatari's Dance or Die tour in July. Venue is great, club-like for artists of smaller format.

You can find two bars inside, one which is right at the entrance door and second thats in the venue hall. Everything was organised well. Shout out to the bartenders who were amazing, friendly and helpful - we were told where and when the artist are coming out after the gig and special thanks for borrowing me a sharpie :) .

We took Uber to the concert, which was a little bit challenging for the driver, as we passed the place several times until we found the right road to get there. However, just five minute walk will take you to the bus, and if I remember correctly also a tram station.

This building has an industrial feel to it, which is expected as this was opened in former glass making factory.
