About
MeetFactory is a non-profit international center for contemporary art founded in 2001 by the artist David Černý. In the wake of the destructive floods of 2002, MeetFactory was forced to evacuate its previous premises in Holešovice. The project was resurrected three years later in an industrial building in Prague's quarter Smíchov, in a unique space squeezed between a motorway and an active railroad. The program started after a substantial reconstruction in 2007. The program of MeetFactory consists in four dramaturgic departments - music, theatre, gallery and the artist-in-residence program.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited during Hatari's Dance or Die tour in July. Venue is great, club-like for artists of smaller format.

You can find two bars inside, one which is right at the entrance door and second thats in the venue hall. Everything was organised well. Shout out to the bartenders who were amazing, friendly and helpful - we were told where and when the artist are coming out after the gig and special thanks for borrowing me a sharpie :) .

We took Uber to the concert, which was a little bit challenging for the driver, as we passed the place several times until we found the right road to get there. However, just five minute walk will take you to the bus, and if I remember correctly also a tram station.

This building has an industrial feel to it, which is expected as this was opened in former glass making factory.

There's one exhibition open all day and a bar with some seating outside facing the rail tracks. It feels nice but it's a bit of a walk from the train station (and it's not directly accessible). It feels artsy and quiet.

I recently went to a concert here and was surprised by this venue. Figuring out how to get to the entrance from the tram was a little difficult but easy with Google Maps. The venue is a decent size for a standing-room only show and the bar is fairly priced.

I and my girlfriend were here for the first time! And this is really good art place for chamber concerts with well-known and not, artists. Gonna back for sure! If you’ll see your favourite or known and interested musician at this location - don't miss the event!!!

David Černy is the Czechlands' Ai Weiwei. He might hate me saying that but it's exactly what I think. This converted building of gems offers so many different experiences for those hungry Art lovers, from concerts, happenings, Art shows and the opportunity to be an Artist in residence. Anyone into Cutting Edge Art and meeting like-minded people need to ear-mark at least an afternoon / evening for the MEETFACTORY.

It's a bugger isn't it, when they plant a place smack bang between 2 railway lines and a motorway...and access is down a pig ugly road.

Add to that a crowded flea market in an ostensibly Matt black room and it's my recipe of hell

The chill out area is a smokers delight (now that the Czechs have finally adopted the smoking ban) and so I hate it.

But.....

Oh my giddy Aunt!.....the Apple tart is soooo marvellous...so much so that the glutton in me had 2 !...yeh, I know, with my capacious tummy ?!

So, sometimes everything is well with the world

We visited this place because a long time ago my favourite musician performed here and I wanted to see the gallery space as well. It is quite off hand but we used the metro and the tram to get there easily within half an hour from the center. There was no one there apart from us, so it doesn't appear to be much of a hangout place unless there's a show on, but the gallery had a very poignant mixed exhibition on refugees and society that i enjoyed. The whole place closes at 8pm unless there's a show, so we had to go for drinks and food elsewhere though.

The Meetfactory is a refurbished old factory/slaughterhouse which has been repurposed to house studios for young artists. In addition there is a concert venue and a theater. The whole project was created under the leadership of the Czech artist David Cerny.

This place is very artsy. It is a bit of walk from the main road and it an be scary to get from there in the middle of night. I was here for theatre and flea market. Both were good. Recommended for eclectic people. And yes they serve cider as well.
