I spotted a beautiful photograph of a contact of mine which was taken in this location. I was totally eneamoured with the image of the swans floating and wading close by and with Charles Bridge and the architecture of the buildings of the Old Town, lining the river bank, looming in the background, in all its splendour. I made a... More

If you really miss the sea when in the Czech Republic then this is not quite the same, but is peaceful and beautiful, so goes part of the way towards beach cravings! You can frget for a second that you are in a capital city.

The place is full of swans, have no idea why they collect here and why there are so many especially when you see tourists feeding them gummy bears or anything else they have in their bags. Another one to go to when you are at the end of Charles bridge and you can't find the Lennon wall or crawling babies... More

Very chill place, full of swans and ducks. Near the Franz Kafka museum, it's a nice place to sit and relax for a while.

This tiny 'beach' is located between Kampa park and Charles Bridge on the side of the Lesser Quarter. A good activity for families with young children.

The artificial beach on the banks of the River Vltava is a nice little touch and a unusual feature along the river bank. The sand is clean and there are more swans and ducks taking advantage of this area than people but it does offer great view's of the river and the bridges and is well worth checking out.

Artificially created beach for locals and kids. Serves its purpose. Nice sand, lots of ducks, swans and restaurants. Good location next to river, would recommend to go there evening time, so you can enjoy the river and the city under lights.

It is not a beach for humans but swans. We are just the observers around them. Should come here it is really worth it.

This forms part of a park area and it's nice to see the swans up close and people were feeding them, so great for photos. People were also feeding the koypu's that appeared, large beaver type creatures who look friendly but I doubt they are. Somewhere to while away a few minutes if you're in the area.

This is a small beach near the charles bridge and especially for the ducks and other animals. They are cute and accesible and you can feed them.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
