What a cute lane, it is! Although I pretty much missed out information, I found it odd that there were so few houses for servants for such a royal palace. But, these houses and their furniture were cute. They looked like it came straight from a fairytale. Worth a visit even though it would be quite busy! It doesn't really... More

The entry to Golden Lane was covered by the Circuit B tickets we bought..As soon as you enter there is a Plate Armoured Knight directing towards an Armoury Museum.. climb up the winding narrow stairs and you are presented with recreated historical armours and knight armery and weapons starting from as early as 8th Century.. everything is displayed in glass... in all the Prague castle area, this was the best area. a lovable place, with tiny houses and lots to see inside. some are reconstructed the way they looked 100-200 years ago, others are lovely small shops. all in all - lovely

I was so over-expecting of this street that I was slightly disappointed when I got there. It is very cute but the houses are tiny and it might get a bit overcrowded if there are lots of people. Do not get your expectations too high and you would find it charming!

Golden lane has been famous in Prague since 1100 years as a desirable property. There are 13 small houses which have been occupied by interesting owners. The entire top floor of all the houses have been made into a large hall with a remarkable weapons and armor collection. Some pics are of views of Prague from the end of golden... More

Without the people it would be a beautiful place to walk and explore and photograph. With 100s and 100s of people it is not a pleasant experience. Squashed and nil views of the lovely houses. I was very disappointed, but maybe should have been prepared given the volume of people. School parties from Spain and Italy by the thousand, huge... More

From other reviews, not everyone's choice, but we found it rather less formal than other sites in the Castle, and somewhat charming, old houses decorated according to former owners' personal tastes. Our ticket in the castle paid for here, the Castle, the Cathedral and the Basilica. We chose not to spend in the shops.

A series of small houses and businesses about a block and one-half long. Each building offers a view into what living near the Castle was like a few hundred years ago. Small quarters and low ceilings, some narrow stairways so bigger folk (me!) will have to watch their heads and squeeze every do often. Again part of Route B ticket... More

Very disappointing. A lot of shops with some clutter and they ask you to pay for the entrance. I would not spend money on this.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
