I have spent an autumn Sunday morning inside the park around the villa, a really relaxing and beautiful environment where to spend a couple of hours breathing fresh air and relax, there are no tourists, but local people who do jogging, walk and play with kids, it's absolutely easy to reach, in close walking distance from the Petrini metro station

Come and visit the beautiful setting in the autumn sunshine and enjoy this historic building with wonderful tree lined walks leading up to and around this gem of a location. Why not sit outside in the adjoining coffee shop to admire the view and to enjoy the nature in all its glory.

I had always wanted to go in here, so I finally did and could not have been more let down. None of the information is in English, and the place has been whitewashed and empty. You can only visit the first floor and the basement, which is also empty other than a large model of the battle of Bila Hora... More

If you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city while you are visiting Prague - this is a site that isn't too far away on the tram. This old "summer palace" is star-shaped and surrounded by lush forest (sort of a Czech-style Sherwood Foreste) and an impressive walkway up the to building. There is a... More

We made a quick stop here on the way back to the airport, and was nice to escape the crowds of central Prague. As the sun started to shine through the trees it brought out an extra tranquil feel to this local park. The star villa in the centre of the park was unfortunately closed but an interesting building to... More

The white painted 16th century hunting lodge is like a beacon when walking through the dark woods that surround it. As its name suggests it’s actually star shaped, and contains very little furniture, but has beautifully decorated stucco ceilings. It’s approached from what must be a mile long walk from the main entrance gate. There is a small cafe just... More

Summer Palace HVEZDA (STAR in English) is the preserve of the same name (Hvezda). The Summer Palace is in Renaissance style and was designed by Ferdinand of Tyrol. (I live now just 2 km from this summerhouse.)

It is just ok to see it, but nothing really special. The area surrounding it are cool, but if you want to walk outside, the nearby Brevnov Monastery is better!
