Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Helena was a very responsive correspondent in the weeks leading up to my visit. We spent a full day (eleven hours) traveling from Brno to villages in the Trebic area where my ancestors once lived. I knew of two houses in one village where my family members had been born and raised, and Helena contacted the current owners ahead of time. One of them made a feast to welcome us for lunch, and her brother helped us contact the owner of the other house, who was similarly generous. We struck out on finding family in cemeteries (this is more complicated than either of us realized, I think), but it was an unforgettable day that answered many of my questions about family origins and gave me forever memories.

We had a wonderful visit to Austerlitz. Helena was a fantastic guide, offering my husband (already very knowledgable of the battle) new and interesting insights, while giving me (a novice) a thorough description. In addition to the battlefield itself, she provided rich and wonderful details of the region around Brno. Thank you, Helena, for an outstanding visit!

It does not matter if you are the world's expert on Austerlitz or just a curious tourist, Helena will make your day on the battlefield interesting and a fun experience. In a very skilful way she adapts the tour to suit your requirements.
Helena picked me up from my Hotel in Slavkov at 8.00am and then showed me around the battlefield in such detail. We went to places that l would never have found if l had tried to do this on my own.
The conversation between us never stopped and we also discussed English and Czech issues and culture

For a military historian a visit to the Austerlitz battlefield is a rewarding experience: the terrain has not changed much, and most of the battle's key locations (command posts and such) are well marked. You can follow the phases of the battle, and understand the "fog of war" the commanders had to deal with. (Plan on at least 4-5 hours - anything less, and you miss a lot.) The battlefield is about 8 miles by 12 miles - far too large to cover on foot, unless you have several days and a good pair of boots. And you must get there first, and you must know what to look for and where - and this is where Ms. Svedova excells.

She picked us up with a van at our hotel (at about 08:30), and drove us to Napoleon's command post first. From here we could view the entire battlefield, and with the help of the maps she provided we understood the overall situation. Then we visited the key locations (the Santon hill, the Pheasantrie, Sokolnitz castle, etc) to get a complete picture. A visit to the museum in nearby Slavkov rounded it all out.

We may have seemed a bit of a challenge: two American professional soldiers, with a keen interest in military history. Although Ms. Svedova claims to be "just a tour guide," that is an understatement: she met the challenge wonderfully. Without her local knowledge we would have missed a great deal, regardless of our professional background.

Helena was so kind, friendly and knowledgeable. She offered the tour to meet my schedule and arranged it.
Actually I couldn’t find any other tour which accept me as a single traveler or another guide was busy on my wish day
Therefore I nearly gave up to look around south Moravia and taste wine.
But Helena was flexible and thanks to her I could have nice day!! I visited Miklov, Valtice and Lenice, and had lots of sampling of Moravia Wine.
I strongly recommend her to you.
Thank you!

I travelled with a friend to Brno for a visit to the Austerlitz battlefield with a friend who has a big interest in Napoleonic history.
We used Helena to guide us around the area and I must say she was excellent. We were collected from our hotel at 08.00, not returning before 19.00. Helena drove us around the entire area, visiting view points, memorials and museums. She had thoroughly researched the subject, and what she was telling us fully corroborated my friends knowledge.
For lunch she took us to a small pub/restaurant where we had a traditional Czech dinner, with beer off course.
It was a really good day, as well as being the guide, Helena was very relaxed, at times it felt like three friends on a day out.
If you are visiting the Brno area for whatever reason, I can highly recommend Helena.

We stayed in prague and wished to visit both the caves on the same day. We were able to achieve this only because of the Brno Guide Helana. She had arranged a nice driver , prompt, fluent in English and assisted us in getting the tickets.

I was at a conference in Brno in April and spent a few days in the wonderful city beforehand. I wanted to see the area around Brno, so Helena organised a wonderful day-long trip in the nearby surroundings, including Krtiny (small village with a Baroque church), the Macocha caves, Poerta Coli (a convent) and the Gothic Pernstejn castle. We began at 7am and finished around 7pm - a long day, but an excellent one. Helena was a terrific guide, very welcoming and accommodating and well informed, ready to supply the kind of useful information that really helped a visitor. I would highly recommend her if you're looking for a well-planned, interesting and fun trip around Brno. Great value and she'll collect from her hotel too. What more can you ask for?

Me and my wife were visiting Brno in 2014 . With limited time and so much to see we decided to book a tour guide for the day .
After looking at a number of guides and a few emails we booked the Macocha Abyss with Helena.

Helena turned out to an absolute gem !

I cannot recommend Helena enough , she arrived promptly on time at our hotel and drove us to some amazing sights across Brno, something I would never been able to do in our short time in this amazing city .

There is much more to the Czech Republic than Prague and Bohemia. Brno Tours run by Helena Švédová makes it abundantly clear that Brno and Moravia have a great deal to offer the tourist who wants to see more of the Czech Republic.

My interest with Brno began with my interest in Napoleonic history. Not far from Brno is the battlefield of Austerlitz. Brno tours catered to my interest. The tour of Austerlitz is a complete tour. It gives the visitor a tour of the battlefield from both the French and the Russian/Austrian perspective. The tour takes you to multiple sights where the battle occurred. It also stops at several museums dedicated to the battle including the Austerlitz (Slavkov) Chateau where a truce was signed (with ample time to see everything). Helena, your guide who speaks fluent English, provides a detailed guide book which is helpful for those who may not know much about the battle.

Austerlitz is not all that Moravia and Brno Tours has to offer. Brno Tours also took me on a day trip to the Macocha Abyss and Pernstejn Castle. Both are spectacular spots to visit. The Macocha Abyss is a sinkhole with a series of caves that includes the Punkva river that runs through it. It is a natural wonder to see. The tour takes you through the cave which leads you to the bottom of the abyss and then to a boat that takes you through the cave network on the Punkva river. If that was not enough, the tour continues on to Pernstejn Castle - a castle which has existed since the 13th century. This castle is a national treasure itself. Because there are no English speaking guides Helena provides you with a narrated audio guide which provides all of the information about the castle as you walk through it. (Don't look into the mirror).

Brno itself is worth a day to visit. Helena provides walking tours of the city as well as the Spilberk Castle which served as fortress and a prison. In addition Moravia has much more to offer. If I had more time Helena also offers a wine tasting tour of Moravia.

Overall, Helena Švédová is a superior guide. Her enthusiasm and local knowledge is second to none. Her English language skills are so superior that there is no issue regarding the meaning of words. Indeed, Brno Tours provides all of the ingredients for time well spent in Brno and the region of Moravia.
