A must for Napoleon fans and "War and Peace" readers if there are still any. Breathe the air of Austerlitz and watch the landscapes of the most glorious battle. There is a museum, a small souvenir shop and a chapel with an interesting accustic effect.

I personally love seccession (art noveau), so the monument itself did not disappoint me. The multimedial exposition is interesting also for people, who are not fans of war history. Ironically, French people I have seen the exposition with said, that they learned more about Napoleon in this place, then in France.

After growing up and learning about Napoleon in school I finally visited a battlefield from the Napoleonic Wars. The Battle of Austerlitz which is also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors was fought in 1805 and is considered to be Napoleon's greatest victory. You will definitely need a car to get to the largest monument that sits high atop... More

If you are a fan of Napoleonic wars (like I am) this is a must see place for you. Only Waterloo battlefield can be compared with this site ( unfortunately the Russians almost destroyed Borodino's one). The battlefield(and the Museum) are held in very good conditions, inviting you to deep in beginning of XIX Century glorious days. Every year re-enactment... More

It is a great and peaceful place to visit if you are interested in the history of Napoleonic wars. It is nicely kept and it is free. It is also worth a visit to the town of Slavkov (Austerlliz). The beautiful chateux played an important part in the Napoleonic history. It is only about an half an hour from Brno.

The monument recalls the famous napoleon's victory. The exterior has an impressive appearance and also the adjacent exposure. In the wider area, we can learn that Napoleon slept at the post office, under the tree, here and there - and so it is no wonder that my little daughter is finally asked: " What he here actually did, when everywhere... There's a monument to the fallen but the main purpose of a visit is to look out over the landscape and let your imagination run wild. There's also a small shop and a cafe.

Napoleon liked this phrase, as it captured the luck he felt on the battlefield, where at Austerlitz, near the Czech city of Brno, sunlight blazed his way to glory. Before that, his troops had been mired in mud and fog. Afterwards, he dominated Central Europe as he would never again. Getting around the battlefield requires a car or a bike—my... More
