I recommend staying PAST a weekend, so one has the experience of quiet and solitude at Jasna Gora. I arrived on Sunday morning; spent a very crowded, busy day there, doubting whether I would ever get a glimpse of the holy icon. The Monastery opens...More

I really can't fully express in words what visiting Jasna Gora Monastery, where the miraculous image of Our Lady of Czestochowa, meant to me. It had been a dream of mine for a number of years to make a pilgrimage out to visit her. The...More

I am not one of the most religious people in the world but still it was quite touching visiting to Jasna Góra with its hundreds of believers. We booked a private tour with one of the sisters since we only had a little over one...More

quite amazing to see how many people this place attracts off season. That said the visit is very enjoyable, the place feels very spiritual indeed and general atmosphere is great

About a 20 minute walk from Hotel Wenecki. Hand out very informative. Went in the afternoon, not as crowded.

If you are there is nice to visit. In my opinion ita not worth a detour. But if you are regligious and like fortified churches/cathedral is a nice place

We had a private guide, Father Roman, who has lived at the monastery for the last 38 years. He provided all sorts of historical information and literally got us a birds-eye view of the Black Madonna unveiling, which takes place at 1:30 p.m. daily.

I like to try to experience things that are popular with locals wherever I go, and Jasna Gora is certainly popular. We were there just before one of the main festivals and the church and chapel were all but overrun. It was all a bit...More

This monastery - one of the most famous shrine of the Virgin in Poland. Of course it is an interesting place, but historically nothing special. If you are in the area then go, but not for special travel.

The Black Madonna is very regal! There is such an air of piety and quiet in the Shrine. Don't leave Poland without visiting this place.

Depending on which trains we take from Warsaw, we might have 3.5 hours or 5.5 hours. How much time will we likely need to see most everything, and maybe attend a mass. We plan on taking a taxi from the RR station, so don't need to consider walking time.

I would opt for the longer option, rather than the shorter one, especially if you want to attend a mass. The guided tour is about an hour/ hour & a half, mass is about an hour, plus there's everything to catch that isn't on... More
