We went here for the Summer Fog Progressive Rock Festival. Loved the venue and all the bands were fantastic. However whoever manages this event/venue needs to find something they are good at!
The food, drink and customer experience was an extremely disappointing one. In fact this is the worst venue experience I have ever had and I would include being sat in a cold wet field in Knebworth for 8 hours in 1985 in that assessment.
Being treated like kids by door staff when the average guest age must have been about 65 is just one example of management failure to prepare.
Imagine arriving on a 30 plus degree hot day taking care to buy some water on route to keep hydrated then being told you cannot take it into the venue! Even though exactly the same product is being sold in said venue. When we bought some water inside, the staff had to take the top off the bottle! Why? I can only imagine they thought we might throw a full bottle of water at someone! Did they think the Sex Pistols were playing?!
Worse than that, you take care to buy/prepare some nice healthy food and sandwiches and you can’t take that in either! And guess what? all the food stalls inside sell absolute rubbish (excrement) food. The food was so bad, processed, stale, crap. They could not even provide a decent bag of fries!
This was a long event, the management have given no thought whatsoever to providing decent fresh healthy produce for the customer. The lager was watered down rubbish and there was no wine either. Pathetic!!!!!
Get new management that put customers first and improve the experience with much better welcome, better choice of drinks and healthy quality food.
Top tip - The second day of the event we eat at Isto restaurant opposite the venue and it was fantastic.

Well worth a visit - looks like a spaceship. Used for sports. Very striking and a nice sight as you drive into city.

Beautiful building ... unfortunately I was at the time when the hall was without bigger events, but I plan to visit Katowice again, As I'm a big fan of sporting events, I expect some big sport event...certainly worth a visit

Nice place for walk. Spodek is know in whole Poland. Some park and fountains nearby. Very close to city center. Big free parking just few minutes on foot,

This building is very striking. It resembles a giant concrete saucer.Considering it was built in 1960s Communist Poland it was groundbreaking for its time.There was a cake baking competition on when I visited which was amazing. Some of the entries were works of art.

This building that looks like an UFO its incredibly huge. The acoustic is awesome. Truly worth it!!!

Within walking distance of the town so readily accessible on foot. Security was good and prices of food and drink were really reasonable

It look gorgeous from the outside like a space vessel built in the beginning of the 70s. the name Saucer in English look strange... used for sport and concert.

Plans for Spodek (meaning Saucer in English) were made in the early 1950s during the brief period that Katowice was called Stalinogrod. Completed in 1971 it reflects the mood of the time: a pleasant mix of socialist optimism and futuristic UFOs landing in town. It is mainly used for sports and concerts.
Looks better from outside than inside where an individual feels small and only meaningful as part of a crowd, but perhaps that was intentional?

We are going to a concert at the arena in April 2023 but will be staying in Krakow. Does anyone know if the trains run quite late or if there would be a bus service that runs that late
Really would appreciate some help as I cannot find the answer anywhere.
