There is a statue of the famous dragon by the castle. There is a story behind it and there is also a cave of the dragon.

We thought this was fun! The crowds are here for the pictures and fire breathing. It’s outside the castle a bit and close to the river.

The dragon statue has a fun fable associated with it which I included on my blog post at etbtravelphotography. The statue blows fire about every ten minutes or so. Some flames are bigger than others so if you see a dinky one, wait for the...More

Dragon statue is unique. I consider it as a attractions no every city has. Plus real flames are really effective.

Take a walk by the river and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Children will enjoy the dragon when it belches flames though it is less easy to see in bright sun.

Lovely Wawel Dragon monument that breathes real fire but I'm not sure how often? We saw his flames from afar but by the time we reached him, no fire came out afterwards. It's something lovely to look at for around 15 minutes.

The story behind the dragon's statue, which became Krakow's symbol, is nice. Every 5 min. you get to see the dragon spit fire, which is definitely entertaining and worths a picture. The statue is located next to Wawel Hill, near the Wisła river.

At irregular intervals, if you hang around long enough, like 10 minutes or so, you should see at least one fiery breath. There used to be a number you could send an SMS to, 7168 I believe it was, with text SMOK, but these... More
