The tour was great - picked up and dropped off at our Airbnb, which was super convenient. Our tour driver was Ivan + our tour guide was Natasha (I think), and both were great. A very informative tour, but also very respectful and appropriately done given the awfulness of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Timing was great, with a good amount of time spent at each location. Would highly recommend if you're in Krakow, couldn't fault this company with the service they provided.

A brilliant day touring some amazing locations in a beautiful country! Everything occurred in a timely fashion, which was impressive due to the number of stops we made at 5 castles and additional places of interest such as the viewpoint onto the Błędów desert. Our guide was very informative and helpful, both in taking us around the locations and giving us time to explore for ourselves. Everything was tailored to our requirements, with adjustments made in the order of stops to ensure that we were not caught out in the rain. An overall fantastic experience that I can highly recommend!

We had met Maciej on another tour and realized we would never find a better guide, and it was a great day. Maciej picked us up at our apartment in Old Town Krakow and we drove to Zakopane with a stop on the way at a pretty little wooden church - Kaplica Najswietzegu Serca Jezusa. Interior is filled with hand carved icons and altar. Leaving the church we made our way to a friend's house (you won't get these stops with other tour companies!) with a great view of the area and had a pastry and coffee before heading into town. After we headed into town where we boarded the Gubalowka Funicular for a trip to the top of the hill overlooking Zakopane. The ride up was beautiful, and the view from the top of the hill did not disappoint. Barb did some shopping and we headed back down after about an hour. We then walked to the Old Zakopane Cemetery - many famous people from the area are buried here, along with war dead and freedom fighters. The cemetery is unique in that the graves are adorned with memorials carved from raw rock and metal, or built in the form of tall wooden totems and sculptures. Leaving the town we stopped for lunch at a great little cafe for some traditional polish food and more great views. On our way back to Krakow we stopped at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima which was built in 1981 to celebrate John Paul II surviving an assassination attempt in that year. We were only 2 in our group, but he only does small group tours. You cannot go wrong with this company.

We were picked up by taxi from our Hotel in Krakow at a reasonable time. Driver was English speaking and very approachable. We also were taking our Tour Guide in the taxi too! He gave us some history on the journey to Auschwitz. The journey was very smooth and took around 1.5 hours. We arrived in Car Park 1 and were told to use the toilets if needed as there were no toilets on the guide. We met with another group so in total there were about 25 + people. Toilets charge - you need 2 Zloty to be able to use!! All very clean! You can purchase tea/coffee and cakes/sandwiches in the stall near the entrance. Be aware NO food to be taken in. And also NO RUCKSACKS! You have to go through a scanner and then collect your earphones. We commenced the tour with the group whilst our tour guide spoke about the history of the camp etc., All very interesting if you can keep up with the group and not spend any time looking and reading in each area we visited which was a GREAT shame as we felt we were not able to stand and take in the reality of what happened in those awful times. It felt like a conveyor belt of groups being shunted from one room to another and as I said if you did not keep up then you were being told about the next room and what was in there and you were still standing in the previous room and another group very close by that had a tour guide who were speaking in another language.!!! This happened until we left this tour and went on the Birkenau tour which was in the open and no groups on out tail!!! So my suggestion would be to perhaps try and not go in a group and be able to do your own 'thing' and at least then you would be able to 'take in' the history of Auschwitz. Highly recommend the visit to both places - a MUST! Also only get about 15 minutes break to have a bit of lunch and toilet break as NO toilet at Birkenau! We were back at our hotel in Krakow by 4.15pm.

Dear Christine, Thank you for your opinion. We would like to inform that we are not responsible for organization of visiting directly in the Auschwitz Birkenau Museum. It depends on museum's office. We provide our customers transport service and reserve for them entry fees and guide. We hope that you will use our service in the future. Best regards, Joanna Poland Active

Was expecting to be part of a group but ended up having a personal tour from Maciek.
He was very knowledgeable and informative as well as friendly . We visited 5 castles in total and were able to go inside 4 of these. Scenery is lovely and it was nice to see some of Poland outside of the city of krakow.

Matthew picked us up at our hotel and brought us to the Monastery for a personal tour given by the guides there. It was a wonderful experience that definitely would not have happened otherwise. The timing was perfect. Matthew gave us all the information we needed and was there when we were ready to go. He took an alternate route back showing us the countryside and castles which we would have never seen on the highway. A great tour and highly recommended.

Matthew, our tour guide, was fabulous. He organized the tours so that they were informative, he provided translation services, included extra data to help us understand the area and significance of the area and was attentive to personal requests. We used other providers for some other tours and Poland Active has heads above. We would use them again in a heartbeat and request Matthew as our guide

We booked our guided tour to auschwitz via our hotel receptionist. We shared our minibus with another family.
The driver was very kind and helpful, walked the extra mile for us. The guide was knowledgeable and professional.

Tour 28th january 2019.
This tour company is unprofessional. The tour guide did not have a clue what he was doing from beginning to end. He was just terrible. I was also forced to store my small bag for a charge outside of Auschwitz in the bag locker because it was 'too big.' Even though people with bags far bigger than mine where being let through. I noticed all the people being forced to store their bags were British. So clearly the staff are xenophobic. The tour guide did nothing, in fact he didn't even notice people in the group were missing.
We did not stop for a break once, nor for lunch. His time keeping was terrible. The tour guide also lied about not being able to drop us at our hotel at the end of the tour. He said it was because cars werent allowed in the main square in the evening. But our hotel wasnt in the main square, it was in a side street. The very next evening our tour guide from another tour company dropped us right outside our hotel and also confirmed the tour guide from the previous day was lying about not being able to drop us off properly. So that's what Poland active are! Incompetent liers.

Visiting Krakow, Poland Active suggested to visit the castles, when asking for history, The tour leader knew his subject very well. and were treated as friend , not as client, I like to say, thank very much to both of them, cause they made our day, and were very helpful. couple from Malta
