Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Plac Wolnica whilst exploring the former Jewish district of Kazimierz. The square is large and feels quite vast as it is not filled with tourists like the Main Market Square, as such can be quite a welcome relief. The square is home to many nice restaurants, bars and proper coffee spots. I would highly recommend stopping by and recharging here before continuing to explore the surrounding area.

Money Exchange at plac wolnica n.8. I had to change 100 euro’s. Despite of the “no commission” sign the girl in the shop gave me about 73 euros. No time to check because she was ready with a receipt. No information was given before and no identity document was asken.

Most people when planning a holiday to this most beautiful of cities will inadvertably base their holiday around The Main Market Square ( Rynek ) and The Little Market Square ( Maly Rynek ) and rightly so, beautiful squares packed with pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination but located in the Jewish Quarter ( Kazimierz ) is Plac Wolnica which in my opinion is one of the most underrated squares in Krakow.
The square is dominated by the former Town Hall building which is very impressive indeed and the architecture flanking the square is beautiful, there's plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants not just in the square but in the streets leading into Plac Wolnica, as a craft beer fan I always visit Ursa Miaor which is probably the best craft beer bar in Krakow and for the best hot chocolate I go next door to Via Caffe ,two great reasons to visit this square.
We are currently enjoying an eight day holiday in Krakow and have visited this square three times now ,our first couple of days saw heavy snowfall and the square looked awesome.
A wonderful square ,most definitely well worth checking out.

This is a rather empty square, located in the old Jewish quarter of Krakow.
The square is dominated by the old town hall and features a nice little statue.

Stayed in Krakow from 18th - 21st March 2019. After initial conflict over accomodation we were situated just outside the Old Town. Krakow is very old and full of history. The Plac Wolnica is the centre of the Old Town with the Kosciol Mariacki as the main location. It is a wonderful church well worth a visit. Just along from the church is a small market selling various types of very appetising street food. Lots of horse drawn carriages but a bit pricey but well worth photographing and the horses looked well looked after! Take time to wander and look in all the corners and several shops to browse around. A very good worthwhile visit

Plac Wonica is nice square in one of the quieter parts of Krakow but with lots of good bars, restaurants and supermarkets etc to provide all you're likely to need for a short break to Krakow. It's around 15-20 mins walk to the more lively central Main Square but staying further out isn't a drawback at all. Think of it as enjoying the best of both worlds. It felt very safe at all times and everyone we encountered in the nearby bars and restaurants were friendly and welcoming. Some may prefer a more lively location or those with mobility issues to be closer to the Main Square, I found this to offer the right balance and probably a lot cheaper with it.

Most every one who plans a holiday to Krakow be it for a long weekend or a week will most probably base their holiday around Rynek Glowny ( Main Market Square ) or Maly Glowny ( Little Market Square) and rightly so as they are historically important and beautiful squares teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and exquisite architecture but not to far away is Plac Wolnica and this square is in its own right really well worth a visit as it's just as interesting.
Located in the Jewish Quarter ( kazimierz District ) there are many superb bars and restaurants such as Via Caffe ( great coffee and craft beer ) ,Podkowa ( traditional Polish cuisine ) Ursa Major ( craft beer bar ) ,Cafe Mybek ( great cafe and vegan restaurant) and many many more in this square.
Besides the wonderful array of places to eat and me drink you have some great architectural here ,particularly impressive is the former Town Hall which is now the Ethnographic Museum ,this building dominates the square which is flanked by some amazing architecture.
The area near the square is also very interesting and your only one minute away from one of Krakows biggest and certainly most beautiful churches namely Corpus Christi Church ( kosciol Bozego Ciala ) which is well worth checking out.
The maze of streets emanating from the square are packed with pubs, bars and restaurants as the Jewish Quarter is renowned for its vibrant and varied nightlife.
Plac Wolnica is in my opinion definitely well worth checking out.

This has to be one of the busiest area's of Krakow, the square is awash with cafe"s, bar's , pub's and restaurant's.
Were as the main maket squares are pristine and cute this is the complete opposite, rough and ready but with a fantastic atmosphere.
We were here Sunday night /Monday morning and this whole area was bouncing, we went to so many great bar's and pub's, pub's such as the fabulous ALCHEMIA which was completely packed, we had vodka shot's in the fun bar PIJALNIA WODKA I PAWA,chilled out in LES COULEURS CAFE, ahd took in the great vibe in BANIALUKA,this area is breathtaking.
Very easy to locate in the Jewish district Kazimierz, just head to Plac Wolnica.
Great nightlife area and well worth checking out.

This is a small square at Krakow's former Jewish neighborhood of Kazimierz. Apart from some restaurants catering to tourists, it has very little to offer. This place is more like a gathering place for locals.

Great place with architectural work and historical buildings. Had a lot of good food places. Among which, there was Hello India where I get to taste real Indian/Pakistani food extremely delicious.
