    Must visit destination
Ostrow Tumsk or Cathedral Island is a definite must see when in Wroclaw. With it's cobbled streets and stunning churches, you definitely feel like you're stepping back in time. Try to catch the tradition of lightning the street lamps around dusk. A gem in the city's shining crown.

There is a elevator to get on the top ;)
Very nice place on the city. Must-have to visit. And one of the best I think viewing place of Wroclaw. At first it is free for kids, at the second there is an elevator. At 3d, they have different directions for someone who goes up and for someone who goes down.

lovely, take your time, take it all in.
along with the Rynek, the epicentre of the tourist map of Wroclaw. Its main feature of course is the cathedral, under repair when I was there, but I got to see a lot of it. It has a few other churches worth visiting too, and some religious institutions, as you might epect, and the cleanest, most elegant public toilets I've ever seen. It's joined to the main part of Wroclaw by the bridge that had thousands of locks clicked onto the railings, so they ask us to not do that any more. I think they removed eighteen tons of locks from it. This is a must if you go to Wroclaw, beware roaming gangs of coach tourists - they might take a photo of you.. do go , it's essential viewing if in Wroclaw, and easy walk from the Rynek.

This is the most magical place I've seen so far, especially at night. It's worth waiting for a Lamplighter, such a unique experience.

One of the big tourist attractions in Wroclaw is most definitely Ostrow Tumski otherwise known as Cathedral Island.
A beautiful religious area of the city surrounded by the River Oder ,the architecture here is superb ,some of the churches and the cathedral are stunning, Church Of The Blessed Virgin Mary Of Piasek, Orthodox Church Of St Cyril And St Methodius, St Peters And Paul Church ,Cathedral Of St John The Baptist are to me the standout buildings but there's many more ,there's all manner of statues and columns and plenty of the famous Wrocław Dwarfs here, the views from the bridges that bring you onto Cathedral Island are stunning and of a night this whole area is illuminated by gas lamps ,Wrocław being one of the few city's that still have designated lamplighters ,I can only think of Prague and London who still have lamplighters, all in all its a wonderful and highly photogenic area of Wrocław to check out if you're planning a holiday to this fascinating city on the River Oder.

A very beautiful part of Wroclaw and a nice walk from the Market Square along the riverbank boulevard which offers many photo opportunities, before crossing over the Sand Bridge which the oldest bridge in Wroclaw. A short walk on the right is where is the Tumski Bridge which offers great views of the two churches behind it. The island itself is made up of many old religious buildings. Monuments and statues, Botanical Gardens, more gnomes can be found here, still using gas streetlamps today and at dusk you can see the famous lamplighter go about his job, offers many photo opportunities at blue hour as the sun goes down.

This is the oldest part of Wroclaw and full of gorgeous buildings to admire - even if, like me, you're not religious.

The highlight is the stupendous Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.

This is a fascinating area of the city. Every building is part of the religious complex and there are churches and gorgeous architecture everywhere you look. Worth a walk thriugh for the shear history.
