Rather dead at this time of year, just a large unused space mostly occupied by pigeons. The part in front of the city hall is currently under renovation. I bet it's much better during summer months though.
Love the Old Market Square. It comes to life in the evenings, and during the daytime watch out for the pigeons as there are thousands of them.

Whether it's during the festival in August or February, the market square is lovely. There are several restaurants in the area that are quite delicious and very cheap. The buildings themselves are beautiful and worth a stroll.
