About
An attraction for tourists, a hangout for Łodz residents, heaven for gourmets and renowned brand lovers, a place full of life and positive energy - Manufaktura has very quickly become the city’s flagship, as recognisable as Piotrkowska Street. Today it is hard to picture Łodz without Manufaktura. With no beach in the summer, no kermis and ice rink in the winter, no concerts in the market square or tasty evenings in local restaurants. Manufaktura means: museums, cinema, theatre, a quarter of a thousand boutiques and stores, playgrounds for the youngest, fitness club, a few dozens restaurants and cafes. But its centre is the over 3 ha large Łodz Women Textile Workers Market Square, which serves as a friendly public space. Here cultural and entertainment events are organised, attracting both residents and tourists. Here the Europe’s longest fountain illuminates the darkness with colours and envelops superbly designed recreational areas in its murmur.

I would rate this as must see sight when visiting Lodz. I would recommend to visit this place during evening time when illumination is on. Place is very nicely renovated old factory area which includes options for eating, drinking, do shopping, gym, ice skating (winter time), art and probably much more. If I understood correctly, there is also longest chain of water fountains in Europe.

A masterpiece of urban planning...
... how a run-down industrial site has been turned into a thriving district that the population has adopted as a new city center.
I know the area from before 1989. It was a gray, desolate industrial complex with workers of the same kind, and it conveyed an indescribable sadness. And today: the sandblasted brickwork of the formerly gloomy factory buildings glows in a warm red. It is extremely impressive when a visitor walks through the very imposing factory gate and looks out over the spacious area.
Don't forget: in many countries - especially Germany - after the end of the war, not only the ruins but also the partially damaged buildings were removed in the cities, and zealous architects and city fathers ensured that the cities today have nothing of what they once were. If we look at PL against this background, it becomes clear that a completely different path was taken here: entire city centers were renovated and reconstructed with the help of historical drawings or other documents. In PL, buildings from the 19th century are now showing off their full splendor, and even former factories show viewers why they were once called "cathedrals of the industrial age." They convey to visitors something of the spirit, the will to change, that once animated this rapidly growing industrial metropolis.
A visit here is an invaluable aesthetic pleasure and should definitely not be missed on a visit to Łódź.
It should be mentioned in passing that even visitors who are not interested in architecture will get their money's worth here. Numerous restaurants (including a large food stall), activities (in winter: an ice skating rink), museums, plenty of seating and a very spacious shopping mall offer something for every interest. Children in particular will enjoy this place and a visit there can easily last a whole day.

A huge facility in the center of Lodz. You can find everything you need, restaurants, shops, cinema...etc. It is very imaginative that an old factory complex was renovated and this huge plaza is part of it. If you are in Lodz, you must visit the Manufaktura.

We are facing another very interesting industrial recovery. In this case, inside, we find several shops, restaurants and even some start-ups. It is located along a busy avenue so it is easily accessible by bus.

This is Lodz's most successful urban redevelopment project. The site of former textile factory, Manufaktura is now a huge shopping mall popular among locals. The blend of old and new is impressive and the mall itself is huge and lively.

Just a regular large European shopping mall. Normal chain stores from clothing to food (kfc, McDonald’s) etc. No crazy prices or discounts and some stuff even rather expensive. Environment was nice.
Worth the visit but don’t expect surprises.

...yet I have to admit that both the quality of renovation of the old textile factory and the public space deserve recognition. Lots of outdoor fountains, attractions for children (springboards, enterntainers, a zip-line), cafes as well as gastronomy - with a a value proposal quite different compared to the Piotrkowska OFF. Basically complementary attractions. No wonder it's a rather crowded place.

One of the prettiest shopping centers in Poland. A perfect example of the revitalization of an old factory. It should be a must-visit for students of architecture. I definitely recommend visiting this place! Next to it, there is a magnificent palace of the owner of the factory, Mr. Poznański.

1. Pls recommend a dog friendly restaurant.
2. What’s the best restaurant to go when in Manufaktura?
Written 10 May 2019
Sorry but I'm not aware of any dog friendly restaurant.
Two very good restaurants that I would recommend are 1. Whiskey in a Jar. Great food, service, atmosphere and drink 2. Bawelna. Again great food, atmosphere, service and rink. Both are really relaxing.

Здравствуйте.
В целом, это довольно большой торгово-развлекательный комплекс. Возможно, что какие то торговые точки или магазины по воскресениям не работают. А вот кинотеатры, бары и рестораны точно будут работать.
