Amazing...One of my Favourite Things about Warsaw

We absolutely loved the Photoplasticon. A stunning vintage machine displaying amazing 3D plates of old Warsaw. It's housed upstairs in a fairly non descipt building but it's a... read more

This was interesting but only if you're in the area. We were under the impression that this exhibit included over 5,000 photos with some photos of areas outside of Poland. However, we found that this exhibit has only 50 photos, all within the Warsaw area. When you enter, you take a seat and peer through "binoculars" while the photos rotate... More

We absolutely loved the Photoplasticon. A stunning vintage machine displaying amazing 3D plates of old Warsaw. It's housed upstairs in a fairly non descipt building but it's a real hidden gem. At the risk of sounding like I'm exaggerating it really is a must see and I've never quite seen anything like it. Fantastic place with really friendly, helpful staff.

It is an absolute must see if you're in Warsaw. This photoplasticon has been here since 1905, and has been operating ever since. The photos shown change periodically, and are usually very interesting, especially if you are interested in history. You feel like you just entered a time machine and got transported to pre-WWII Warsaw. Plus, it's 3D technology before... More

It is incredible that the Fotoplastikon has survived the ravages of the Second World War in its original location - this fact alone makes it unique, and it is the spirit of the place that is more interesting than the old stereoscopic photos on show. I have read that the Fotoplastikon had played its part during Nazi occupation of Warsaw,... More

i do believe that this is the only one of its kind left in europe. its incredible. the exhibitions change, its right in the center, so doesnt demand going to great lengths to reach. i always recommend this place to people. its unique and very exciting.

This is a ‘quick visit’ kind of place. I do recommend it, especially if there is an interesting exhibit, such as old pictures of Warsaw. Unfortunately when we were there, the exhibit was not so interesting – old vacation photos in Africa.

Whilst this isn't an expensive item of interest it is a complete waste of time. Very few of the photographs are of Warsaw (surely that's the reason for it?) The staff are a miserable bunch who see customers as an inconvenience and there are far better things to do and see in the city. Don't bother yourself.

This was such a quaint and unique experience, if you get a chance definitely go there! This type of thing should be funded :) A real blast from the past! I watched a photographic biography of a brilliant soldier who was famous, but the exhibitions change regularly so there is always something new!

If you are looking for an original way to spend some time, you can go back in time in this place. I have got the old photos of Warsaw and sat there for a good half hour looking through these charming pieces. Oh, and a very cheap entry, just 1 euro.

If you like to visit historic locations this is a great hidden gem in Warszawa right across the street from pałac kultury. WW2 buffs would love this because it feels as if are takin back in time. The fact that it's the same machine that has been showing pictures for 100 years is amazing. Great historic pictures of WW2 are... More
