Very nice park, with plenty of chairs and shade. Plus the added bonus of the rooftop part that makes it even more special even though the views are not spectacular.
There are also two coffee shops inside where you can get a drink or snack.

Totally loved the experience of being at the University of Warsaw Library Gardens! Though library was closed for holidays but I'll plan a visit there when it gets greener and more colorful.
Impressive from the outside, exquisite from the inside, and has fantastic views from the top. I had been planning on visiting this extraordinary library in Poland, which is one of its kind located right in the heart of the national capital. Speaking of the library:
1. The library boasts of a roof garden split into two parts: the upper garden (open to the public from April to October) and the lower garden (open year-round)
2. The garden was opened on the University of Warsaw Library roof in 2002, spanning over the 1-hectare surface area.
3. It's one of the largest roof gardens in Europe accessible through an entry garden. The roof garden is divided into two parts. A cascading stream connects both parts (upper & lower parts).
4. The lower part includes a fish pond, with a bunch of ducks paddling around. Warsaw has a nice population of Mandarin ducks which are an exotic duck breed, so colourful. You might come across one of them stroking the lake waters.
5. There's a series of granite sculptures by Ryszard Stryjecki on cosmological themes.
Make sure that you check the hours correctly before you go there. To enter the library premises indoors, you must have a library card or a student's ID from the University of Warsaw.

The library inside the building can only be accessed by pass holders (probably students). The gardens on the surrounding area of the library can be accessed by anyone. This is a pedestrian area, with easy access from the road. It is a beautiful green garden. The building of the library itself has a unique green aluminum color, matching the colors of the surrounding gardens.

The University Library is a great looking copper clad building close to the Copernicus Science Centre between the Vistula and the Royal Palace. There is a pleasant garden which can be accessed freely to the north-side of the Library. In the winter, it is a mixture of grasses, shrubs and trees. The garden stretches upwards to the actual roof of the building, but this is closed during the winter. There should be a great view from up there.

This is a striking building between the university main building, a few parks and the Vistula river. Reasonably pleasant to walk around, and to -- so far as Warsaw goes.
The building is a postmodern take on the modernist legacy of brutalist architecture. The result is an interesting, if cold and unwelcoming, environment; light green, concrete and aluminum colors dominate the space inside. The library has an amazingly unwelcoming procedure, starting with the compulsory coat room, the staunchly monolingual guards who are apparently convinced their job is to convey the management's sense of total distrust of the public. You shall not enter, unless you have a card (which is of course only issued inside), short and very powerful commands are uttered in the beautiful Polish language at everyone who ambles in and fails to understand the management philosophy: "we have this building, it was expensive to build and you should go away".
Even if you are a qualified user, the librarians are surly and noncommittal. And of course the online server works perfectly EXCEPT if the user needs it for some outrageous purpose, such as renewing a borrowed book, etc.
As you enter the building, you come to a small shopping area, with a Polish-only bookstore, a poster store with rather boring, conventional material, and a couple of u unpleasant "cafés". Make sure you ask for a small spoon for the muesli because by default that is not part of the service. The toilet looks like prison architecture.

Who would've thought that a library could also be a garden?
Uniquely designed with great views from the top over looking the Wisla river.
So much better than I expected, and must be even more incredible during summer months when everything is in bloom!

Yes, it is free, but it is worth exactly what you pay for it, meaning not much. Most of the things growing there are grass, low-growing junipers and pines, and foundation shrubs. If you are looking for blooming plants, other than a few annuals, you will be disappointed. There were no interesting perennials or unusual plants there when I visited one month ago (June 2017). I would recommend spending your time somewhere else.
