National Museum is one of the oldest art museums in Poland. The building was built before II WW in a modernist style. Now you can see the exhibition from ancient times to XX century. The most impressive is the medieval part. Recently I visit the museum because of an exhibition of Chinese officials from Beijing National Museum. I would recommend... More

Quite nice and spacious museum, home of some interesting artwork, primarily from medieval times. Some fine pieces of paintings can be found as well. Good floorplan, easy to get around. Only drawback is numerous school trips with kids who are much too loud for the occasion.

This is quite old fashioned in layout, but well worth visiting to see the paintings (some are incredible) and the medieval church art

This 1938 massive museum is one of the few buildings not destroyed during World War II. There are some real gems among this huge collection. It's definitely worth exploring. They have an important Rafael work and other important Italian painters, but I really liked seeing the great collection of Polish works. They have some great works by Jozef Mehoffer, Hans... More

Hi Clint, thank you for your kind review, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit. Just one thing to point out for your review: The works you find in our museum were not given to Poland from Hitler's collection, but were returned and recovered to Poland, and to our museum, after being stolen by Hitler during WWII.... Too many halls are closed for "renovation" as they were 3 years at my last visit, so disappointing.,, The bookshop needs updating so that the customer can browse, pick up reading material and not simply point to objects behind a desk which the sales assistant is "guarding" pre 1989 style. The customer might even be tempted to buy something. Experience... More

An interesting museum for a visit, even if you were not planning to see art in Warsaw. Contains collections from different periods and different regions. Some of the permanent exhibitions are free. Close to the city center and easy to reach.

Just after we bought tickets we were told and I saw the letters saying that half of the permanent exhibition was closed. Although the admission price didn't burn a hole in my hand, I felt ripped off for paying the full price for half an exhibition. The art collection was nice and diverse, with some impressively large war scenes. And... More

Big museum with a great collection of medieval art (I even came back to see it again), polish and a little of international art. There'll be something for every art lover.

If you like Art then this is a place to visit! We came late on in the year so some things were closed but was still good to go around and look at all the stunning pieces of art!
