    What a view
Picture postcard view with a seat to enjoy this spectacular view to match. I was lucky to see on a good day with no one else around, only saw a couple while walking to lookout. Only about a 10 minute hike but it’s over rocks and uneven ground so be careful. Also track not very well marked or maintained so very easy to get lost. For such a major view point signage should be more clear. If visiting Lake Bled then you must add to your must do list.

Part of a loop with Mala Osojnica
We stopped at this viewpoint as part of a loop hike combined with Mala Osojnica (review posted separately). I won't repeat all of what I said there, but I will note that I preferred Mala Osojnica to this viewpoint, but I was still happy that we visited both. It took us about 20 minutes to reach this spot from Mala Osojnica. We only stayed for 5 minutes, because it was more crowded than the previous spot. There's only a single bench here, and not as much lateral room to spread out and take pictures. We enjoyed seeing additional views and taking a couple photos from here as well. It took us a little less than 30 minutes to return to our starting point at the trailhead once we left.

    Incredible view!
Visited in April and were lucky to have wall to wall sunshine. The hike up is pretty steep and rocky (especially the last 5 mins of the hike before reaching the viewpoint). However, the view is absolutely stunning. As we travelled in April, it wasn't too busy, but I imagine it can get pretty packed up there in the height of summer. I could have sat and stared at the view all day.

This is a must visit place in Bled. The entrance to the trail has only a small sign but you should see enough people heading up. It’s an uphill trip and it gets steeper as you go higher. And there is a steep section with lots of loose small rocks. You need good shoes to walk through. And the last section is like climbing the rock stairs. You will be rewarded with spectacular view at the top. The island in the lake appears in front of you. You also see Bled castle and Julian alps in the back. Breath taking view. Although the hike was not easy, I saw small kids on the trail too. Definitely family friendly hike.

After reading all the good reviews, I decided to take this steep but short (15-20 minutes) hike instead of the Bled Castle for the best view of the town. Kind of regret it.

Steep was underestimating this hike. In the last 5-10 minutes, it's basically climbing on rocks with a metal rope nailed on the side rocks as a hand rail. In my opinion, it can be dangerous after bad weather.

I heard that it was raining very hard the 2 weeks before my hike. The trail and rocks were slippery.

The view was nice, but I highly recommend checking the weather for the last few days before going. If there was rain, it's better not going.

Fantastic view. It's quite an uphill trip to get there, but well worth it. Wear study shoes. A guide we had for another activity told us that a number of people each summer need assistance due to injury after attempting to climb in casual sandals/flip flops. This is a hike up rocky terrain, be prepared.

This view of Lake Bled is amazing. The walk up there is very rough, because a lot of rocks, but the view makes it absolutely worth it. The view is the best of Bled. You see everything you want. The walk will take about 15 - 20 minutes, but it is rough time. Do not miss this!

As non-hikers, we found the hike up to be quite strenuous. I was huffing and puffing all the way up but it was well worth the effort. The view of Lake Bed is stunning!! It's a picture perfect post card view for anybody who looking for great photos to post or send to their friends. You won't be disappointed!

If you're not sure where this hike begins then enter these co-ordinates into Google Maps - 46°21'33.3"N 14°05'05.3"E .

This hike is not to be confused with Mala Osojnica which is a more challenging hike to a higher viewpoint. Both hikes start from those co-ordinates, there is a sign to point you in the right direction for both.

For this particular hike you will spend about 15 minutes walking up what feels like a dry river bed, footing can be difficult at times as you need to step over and onto large rocks and stones, it's fairly straight forward though if you take your time. It's also pretty steep in places so you need to be fairly fit. The last 5-6 minutes are walking up the rocky mountainside as you turn off the main trail, this is a bit harder but if you're in moderate health and of average fitness it won't be a problem for you.

Once at the top you will get the postcard view of lake Bled with the castle and mountains nicely in shot. There is a bench so you can relax whilst watching the view. In March the trail was very quiet and I only saw another 2 groups but I'd imagine in the summer there will be a lot more people around.

The trail is free and there is no charge to enter.

This is a relatively short hiking trail. I would suggest doing a loop that starts at the west-mos point of the lake and encompasses three peaks: Ojstrica, Velika Osojnica and Mala Osojnica. The trail is not always well marked and can get muddy at places, but it is marked on the Google Maps, so with a smartphone and a few helpful locals, most of whom speak better English than an average resident of London or Toronto, you'll be fine.
For people arriving from afar to hike the Alps, on your day of arrival, hike around the lake, including taking this trail along your way to beat the jet lag and prepare yourself to a more serious hike the next day and escape the rather hectic town of Bled.
