This is a cool destination to cross of the bucket list. We went in Winter, and the lake was completely frozen solid (we still went across the lake on foot like everyone else was, so fun!) The Castle was constructed around 1011, and has been through a lot of turmoil. The Good: -The location and view of Bled are excellent,... More

After touring many castles throughout Europe, I cannot recommend that you go for the castle. Each room of the castle has been turned into a tourist trap - stuff to buy in all the different places - wine cellar, printing room, forging area, etc. That was a big disappointment to pay an admission fee then be 'hit' with buy this... The views from the top are worth the price of admission, but other than that it was rather disappointing. There was a museum and then about four shops. So, if you don't care about views, you are basically paying 10 Euro so that you can spend more money inside shops. There is a great paper shop with a replica of... More

Small castle, although i wouldn't come to bled just for the castle. The view of the lake itself and the restaurant in the castle is fantastic. There was a Christmas market on round the lake shores with live music and the locals dancing around which made for a fantastic atmosphere

It's a castle. Most people have been to them. Most people have been to more stunning castles. But this castles setting is just the dogs whatsits. We were there in February so it was pretty cold and the low cloud covered the mountains but you can't help but take a bazillion pictures of the scenery. A gem.

We walked up to the impressive castle, saw all the exhibits which are of a high standard throughout and then spent a wonderful hour in the restaurant. Fabulous food and wine made up for the cloudy view. Excellent service from Slavko. This is a must - see if you are in the area.

The castle itself is not really a big attraction for me but the hike to the castle and surrounding Bled town is very beautiful with the lake Bled in the center. The church in the middle of the Bled Lake is also very spectacular.

Visited the castle a few weeks ago. Paid the full price of €10 each only to find that half of the castle and "exhibitions" were closed. All we could see was the museum which focused mostly on rocks and the souvenir shop. The view is spectacular but to pay full price and have half of it closed is a liberty.
