A wonderful little island

The nature surrounding it is lovely and it's such a cosy little Island with a beautiful church. I got married here - it's simply one of the most special places on earth for me.

We hired a rowing boat and rowed out to the island, it takes about 20 mins gentle rowing. Secured the boat and climbed the steps to the church. Beautiful church. Our daughter wanted to ring the bell and had to be lifted up to reach it. After a short look around the lovely island we rowed back. It took around... More

Such a gorgeous place on Earth. Really nice island located in the middle of Lake Bled, the transport is organised by a boats with no fuel consumption. The island has shop where you can buy a souvenirs or take some rest by taking a coffee or beer. It looks so natural and really gives you the feeling that the nature... More

The most ineteresting part was shipping on the boat. About 40min walk around the island is enough to visit whole island and a shop.

We can highly recommend visiting the island in Lake Bled, it's a charming place and well worth seeing. You can book passage on a flat bottomed pletna boat from various locations all around the lake for about 14 euros a person. It's a restful and unique way to travel. We chose to rent a rowboat instead because it's much cheaper... More

Beautiful Bled. You must experience it. I would recommend going when the weather is not clear, because the Bled then even more mystical and beautiful.

Bled Island is one of the more picturesque that you will ever view - absolutely breathtaking. We hired a boatman to row us in a pletna across the short distance. Our boats were clean and comfortable and we were sheltered from the sun by a brightly colored canopy. Once docked at the base of the island, there are 99 stone... More

The best way to come to the island is to take a trip with traditional Pletna boat made by locals. It has a colourful awning which protect you from sun. It is operated by Pletna oarsman. It takes 40 minutes to come to the island, than you are free to visit the pilgrimage church, 52m high tower and return by... More

You could take a boat to this wonderful island, or you could hire a rowing boat and make the journey across yourself. It isn't very far to row and when you arrive it's more than worthwhile. If you don't have the numbers then take the boat over, sit back and relax. The island itself was sensational and really beautiful. My... More

Pretty island in the middle of lake bled. Catch a boat from the mainland (14 euros each return but you only get 30 mins on the island, or row yourself). It takes about 10-15 mins to get out to. 99 steps to climb up to the church or you can walk around the outside. It's free to get onto the... More
