We toured Bled Castle and Bled Island and enjoyed bot. The climb to the castle can be a bit much but the views are worth it. Visiting the island is much easier as you are rowed over in a boat like a larger version of what you see on the canels over Venice. Bled Island is 360 degrees of beautiful... More

Bled island is definitely a tourist trap. Unfortunately there's not much you can do about it but pay the inflated fees for the boats to take you the short distance across to the island. Not too much to do once you get there, but the views are decent.

A short boat trip to the island. There are 99 steps up to the church and if you get married there the groom is supposed to carry his bride up all the stairs.

Took one of the boats to the island. A little pricey at 14 euros each way per person. But we felt it was worth the price to see. You get 30 minutes to explore the island, which is a little tight, but the island is small.

the boat ride over cost 14 euros per adult. there were some boats you could rent just around the bend, not sure what the cost is for them but if i were to go again i'd look at what they cost. was told they would wait to make the ride over until there was 6 adults. we had 4 adults... More

Took a small boat out to the island church. Beautiful views of Bled, the castle, and Julian alps. You have to walk up the 99 stairs to get to the top. Brides and grooms do this on summer Saturdays to see if they are fit for marriage. There is the small church at the top and you can also go... More

The lake (Lake Bled) with the little island (Bled Island) in the middle and having a church (Church of Assumption) on the island definitely has its appeal when you are viewing everything from far. Adding the gondola-like ride (Pletna), it makes it almost impossible not to do everything. However, doing all is going to cost. Bled Island offers a little... More

The trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Bled island and the Church of Assumption. The boatride is an expensive one (14 euros) but swans are racing with you all the time and the church bells peal to make it quite magical. The gelato on the Bled island is a must-have....my choice of flavour? Salted Caramel, of course!

Taking a gondola style boat out to the island, we had a rendevous with a church and a performance. The place captured our imagination and we found it hard to leave. There are little places to eat, toilets that are easy to access and some delightful tourist shops that sell high quality souvenirs. I could've eaten ice cream and hung... More

It is hard to describe the beauty of Bled. Beautiful, clean lake with the island in the middle. On the lake you will find small church on the hill. It sounds like the beginning of some fairy tale, and it is not so far away from the truth! I strongly recommend this place:)
